Ear tubes

What is the recovery like after having ear tubes inserted? Parker is having them put in next Friday morning (they are waiting on adenoid removal until his next set of tubes). I know the procedure itself is fairly minor but I'm wondering when I can expect him to be back to his normal self?
 
Joey had tubes inserted 3 times and we needed to stay in hospital from 8 am to 11 am and he was pretty much back to his old self when we left the hospital. He was just a bit tired from the narcosis.
 
Ben had his 1st set in Feb. He slept on me in the recovery room for 45 min, was a bit clingy for another 30 min or so (while he was checked & we checked out), and then was fine by the time we left the surgical center. I can't remember if we did 1 or 2 doses of Tylenol during the rest of the day, but it was more because the nurses recommended it and I was worried he would be in pain than because he was showing signs of hurting.
 
Grant had his put in(and adenoids out) at ~15 months. He was sleepy after surgery, but was back to his smiley self the very next day.
 
madelyn's total time in the surgical center was 3 1/2 hrs. that was the actual surgery as well as recovery. she had one dose of tylenol once we were home and was absolutely fine after that.
 
Landon had them. He was back to him old self just a few hours after surgery. Didn't even phase him.

Oh and for those few hours.......he was just a little sleepy from the medicine. That was it. :) The surgery only took like 15 minutes! I didn't even have much time to worry about him! LOL
 
My son had them- he rested in the recovery room for about 20 minutes and was back to running around, playing right after. They even said he could go back to school (but of course we kept him home). Very easy recovery :)
 
Same as all the others. :) Both of my kids that have had tubes were back to their old (but improved!) selves after a good nap to sleep off the anesthesia.
 
as long as he doesn't have a reaction to the anesthesia he'll be perfect like the other girls said :] Ce hasn't had tubes-- but he had another procedure that required anesthesia and it was pretty tough on him. He was off for days and developed a really bad rash.. but I think he's probably the minority :p
