Ear ache remedies...go!

Last night all of a sudden I feel like I've got water stuck in my ear. Last night I did the peroxide/water drops and warm olive oil.

I'm trying the olive oil again this morning.

Any other ideas? No "ache" yet, but I hoping I can stop it before it gets to that before the holiday.

I have ear drops that I got at a health food store that has a bit of garlic oil mixed with olive oil. I've used it a few times for my son and myself and it's worked like a charm! The garlic has antibacterial properties.

Tea Trea oil can help, too - the same antibacterial properties in case something is lurking in there. Also, try a hair dryer set on low - the warmth can help soothe (as well as help losen any ear wax build up before you use your drops) and help dry out any remaining moisture.

laying the ear on a heating pad is the only thing that works for me... I hope it gets better - no fun!

I am very susceptible to ear aches and having my ear drum burst, to the point of the doc telling me that next time I will have to have tubes placed in. So, I am very diligent about treating myself if I feel an ear ache coming on. What I've found that works--- mucinex. You need to loosen and drain all the congestion in your head so the ears can drain. That works wonders for me!

Fill a small sock with rice and warm it in the microwave and hold is on your ear if it starts to hurt.

I'm sorry Tracy, that stinks. Do you have any idea what's causing it? The reason I ask is would recommend something different depending on the cause. If there is inflammation in your ear, you may want to consider taking something like ibuprofen. Hopefully it doesn't develop into anything.

Well after everything I tried I decided to get some swimmer's ear at the pharmacy because I asked about it there. Since there's no pain, I'm trying this. Hopefully it's not going to get worse since we'll be snorkeling all weekend.
