Dumb question of the day!

Ok, I have never done this, so pardon my ignorance.. but, how do you change the entire color of an element (say a swirl or something) in PSE?

Right now, (please try not to laugh!! LOL) I am opening it up, then using the paint bucket to change the color -- but some elements have more than one line pattern and using the bucket is tedious......... there HAS to be an easier way! I had directions once about selecting all, then changing the color, but i can't find them........

Ok, newbie question over. :D

That's not a silly question!

If I want to change the overall color of an entire element, I just make sure it's selected and then adjust the hue/saturation (I just play with it til I get what I want). I don't have PSE open right now, but I believe that option is under the "edit" or "enhance" menu.

If I just want to recolor a portion of the element, I use the magic wand tool to select what I want before using hue/saturation.

If you'd like to see an example of somewhere I used this technique, you can look at my ipod layout. That ipod in the picture is a photo that I found online. Originally, the ipod in the photo was red, but I wanted to recolor it to match MY ipod.

Hope this makes sense! :)
