Dumb question-Janet's two-page templates? Can you split them?

I am resolving to scrap either two pages per kit or two pages with complimentary colors so my photobooks flow better. Anyway, I LOVE the two-page templates Janet has in her shoppe, but I've never scrapped one like that. Can you split them in two? How? These would make my album much faster... being a mom of two little ones and working full time cuts into my scrap time!

TIA! :)

Stephanie you can split them. After I've flattened, I just crop it and continue with sizing/sharpening, then go back in history and do the same thing but on the other size.

I create all my 2 pagers as a big 24x12 spread and then split them off for saving when I'm done - it's much easier to see how the 2 pages flow together.

You might want to put a guide in at the vertical 12" point so you can see what your page will look like at the break between pages. Some people (ahem, me) don't like photos to be split between pages so it helps me to see where that page split will be.

I ALWAYS forget to sharpen keely... they turn out ok I guess, but that's good remnder too of something I need to do. Thanks!

I do that, too. It's also easier to read paragraphs of journaling if they doesn't flow over the page break. I print at home so I only need to stay a little bit away from the page break, but if you plan to print in a photobook you may need a bigger gutter.

Yep...definitely you can split them. I like creating them in 24x12 so you can see how the pages go together. When I am done, I just flatten and then I crop with my settings set to 12 x 12 and then save as a jpeg. Then I undo and do the other side.

Also, just so you know...I can't stand to have things cut down the middle so I create ALL my twp pages templates so that things are NOT cut down the middle. There may be paper that extends across the pages but things like photos will never cross the midline. That's really important to me :)

So like in this one

I worked hard to keep the slanted photos clear of the midline.

Hope that helps! I have a sweet spot for 2 page layouts so if you have any questions, please let me know.

Steph, Janet had a post over at the Daily Digi about preparing 2-page LOs for printing...Here is the link:

Thanks for linking this Cindy! You saved me time :)

And HERE is another post about using two page templates.

Great printing tips :)

Thanks Janet- no pictures in the middle for me either! This stuff ROCKS... thanks for the tutorial links! :)
