Dryer probs

so, my dryer has been spinning for a few hours now, the clothes are still damp and there is no heat. I am thinking the heating elements is out, how should one go about fixing that? My DH is pretty handy, but hasn't fixed a dryer before.

From what I was told, it's more expensive to fix the heat element than it is to just buy a new dryer! Ugh! We've had belts go before, and that was a simple fix, but when the heating element went, they said there was no hope for it.

Honestly...It is an easier fix than you think. The problem you may find is being able to actually buy the part you will need. If it is a newer dryer, I might call an appliance repairman. If it is older, then the part becomes harder to find and a new one might be in order.

that sounds really familiar. I think our dryer had the same problem. I don't remember what the malfunction was but we called an appliance repair guy and it was an easy fix. I think it was under $150.

say it ain't so, I didn't really want to hear that. It is maybe 6 years old and we haven't had any other probs with it, It was on the cheap end when end bought it, I guess I have to do some googling

Ours did this and it was the element, it was 73.00 and some change to fix it, including the service charge!

Our repair man showed me how to check if it's the heating element. We turned the dryer on, turned off the lights and when I looked under the dryer door area, it was lit up inside.

Hope you get yours figured out and fixed.

Ours was a buildup of lint in the vent that goes out our rooftop.

The dryer guy came and it was the heating element, $140 for the fix. He has to come back tomorrow to put in the part. Thanks for your good dryer vibes.

Oh that's awesome! Mine may have been different because it was older, 10-12 yrs I think.
