my hair is a mess! it is so dry from the coloring, the weather and blow drying. not to mention the peanutbutter and other odds and ends that end up in my hair from grubby little hands.

what is a good shampoo and conditioner to get it back into shape (and any other treatments). I need it cut - but it needs another week or two before I can go. my hair is fine and thin and short - just below my earlobe. so too much of a "good" thing can weigh it down - frizz cream and so on does this.

tia!

Here's a tip that I overheard a lady with gorgeous hair telling her friend one day while we were in Applebee's.

If you shower daily - don't wash your hair every day but DO condition it every day. I have followed this ever since. The only time that I stray from it is if I don't remember if I washed it the day before or if I know that it should be washed due to some out of norm circumtances that made my hair dirtier than it normally would be.

Also - when you color your hair - only do the roots that have grown in vs always coloring your whole head.

I borrowed this from a lady at the gym and I loved it! I went out the next week and bought some from Sally Beauty Supply:

I have really dry hair and static-y hair too and this stuff (just a few sprays) works great!

I have a Redkin Deep Conditioner that I normally use once or twice a winter. I have also gone into the salon when its really bad and had it deep conditioned, last year I found someone while on a trip in Madison, WI to do it for only $15. My hair is also very fine.

I'm a big fan of Pureology. I use the Hydrate line and even though our winters are super super dry here, it still keeps my hair nice and soft even with the coloring, blow drying and straightening I do. It's pricey but it's really concentrated so you don't need much - it lasts a long time.

I use Aussie Hydrating because I have dry hair. I also use Hask Pure Shine Frizz Remedy. I do not wash my hair everyday or condition it every day. More like every two to three days. If you do it more often at least with my hair it gets icky. I also switch periodically to different shampoos and conditioner because my hair sorta gets used to it if I use it to often. My hair is really thick and really long

I do this too. I only wash/condition my hair every other day so that I don't have to dry it every day. For one, my hair is super thick so drying takes forever and two, I definitely noticed it being dryer when I had to dry it every day. I just flat iron it on the second day and it looks fine.

yes my hair is really long and really thick. If I went to bed with wet hair it would still be wet in the morning possibly even til noon so drying it with the hair dryer is not fun. That shine serum I put on when my hair is just barely damp and finish blow drying it with it in my hair. Makes it really soft and manageable. I dont use alot. A bottle will last me several months and I think it costs like 6 or 7 dollars at Walmart. It is pretty small too...I just checked it is 1.5 ounces.

What i would recommend is the new biolage delicate care or biolage ultra hydrating System. Also what the girls are saying about shampooing too much is right on. What happens when we over shampoo we strip out the natural oils and youll shut down your natural oil production

Oh good... I was a little worried people would think I was gross if I chimed in here to inform you all that I only wash my hair every other day. :D

I have to wash mine everyday because it's naturally curly and I have to use so much gel to keep it from becoming a fro! On the rare occasions that I straighten it, I don't wash it for 2 days. It's heaven. lol

Mine is super dry right now too, but I've GOT to get a hair cut. It's downright embarrassing how bad I need it!
