Does your state have crazy requirements?

Join the club! We bought a fake tree the year we had to take the real tree because it dried out BEFORE christmas, and was a fire hazard. And yes, I live in Oregon too...where Christmas trees a major cash crop export to other states.

Rachel

well, it's kinda illegal to have a fake Christmas tree in Oregon. Everyone thinks you are crazy if you do. We are surrounded by gorgeous evergreens but I don't actually want one in my house. I've had several tree accidents inside (tree fallen over, tipped out yucky water and ruined a carpet) and I am actually allergic (if I touch it). So we have a fake one, but darn if people don't act like I've done the unthinkable here in Oregon. LOL

okay I had to google this.. Here is a blog site with a whole bunch of silly laws (many have been revoked... I hope)

http://crazytopics.blogspot.com/2007/01/craziest-laws-in-america.html

but my favorite one from my state takes place in Wilbur, WA (about 1.5 hours from where I live)...

It's illegal in Wilbur, Washington, to ride an ugly horse

This is from Ohio's and it's still true...at least in Alliance, Ohio

It is illegal for more than five unrelated women to live in a house.

It goes back to when there were brothels and such. It's a small college town and it's enforced. There are no sorority houses and when you are leasing or renting to the girl's that attend the college in that town you are check up on regularly!!!

Umm...Darcy....I think I should be arrested since I have failed these past 9 years to get pictures of either boy in the Blue Bonnets :D Although I do have them in proper western duds, as seen in this LO

Here's one of my favs from my adopted state (Texas):
A recently passed anticrime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed. LMBO!

followed very closesly by this one:
Clarendon: It is illegal to dust any public building with a feather duster.
