Does your DH name his.....

vehicle? :p What did you think I was gonna say?! :D LOL. Mine just got his dream 73 Chevy Blazer. It's a convertible top for those hot summer days. He's been wanting one forever! So I'm really relieved that he was able to find a good deal and I don't have to hear about wanting one anymore.

The other day he asked me "What about Gypsy for the truck?" I kept thinking - what about a gypsy? :huh:

Then he tells me that's what we're calling the truck from now on. It's kinda cute actually, like a little kid naming his stuffed animals. I just wonder if other people have names for their toys, um, or things. :)
 
One of my ex's had a BMW 318ti that he loved. He called her Bettie, Bettie Beamer. Then we of course had to name my car, a red neon. Because it was a POS (compared to the BMW anyway) he named it Leon the Neon.
 
LOL! I seen the title and thought NO SHE DIDN'T LOL!!! Ok my mind is in the gutter!! LOL! That is too cute naming his vehicle! LOL! I think men love their cars! My dad named one of his cars growing up Betsy. Have no clue why that name but that was what we all called it.
 
Mine doesn't... However, I call his jeeps and truck that he is restoring his "girlfriend". He spends more time with them than me... LOL!!! Oh well, it gives me more time to surf and scrap. :)
 
ITA Becca - they love their cars so much that they become part of the family! Gypsy was one of the names in the running for our puppy, but it got overidden by Bailee (a name we almost called our youngest DD). Yeah, we like to throw names around and see where they end up. :)

So I guess you could say Gypsy is the newest member of our family...I should post some pics or make a LO soon! :wub:

oh lord... you can tell where my mind is when i couldn't open this topic fast enough!!! lmao!! my hubby does not name his car... but i had a name for my very first car... she was flower power... LOL!!!
 
Um, doesn't everyone?... :unsure: We name a lot of things, and our pets usually have two or three names. Maybe we're weird, but I'm good with that. ;) :p

Dude!... DUDE!... can I just say how jealous I am! Seriously... so. freakin'. cool! (Hey, the only girl in a big family, master mechanic for a father, married a gearhead... I can't help but have a little oil runnin' through my veins ;) )

My DH named his work van "The Beast" because it is HUGE and it's a beastly thing!!
 
Yes, my DH's car's name is Ashley. Of course the car before his current one (and his first car) was named by his friends 'The Black Coffin' - it was an old black Geo Metro, with no air conditioning (in Texas).
Because he named his new car, I named my car when I got a new one - I named it Sam, short for Sweet A__ Machine, because I love it.

ROTFL!!! Love Leon the NEON!!!:p We had a bertha once, haven't named the two we have now, but DH calls the truck Big Blue!

LOLOL, we don't name any cars or limbs around here but I DID call the 08 red mustang GT Dani and I rented at CHA "My Precious" :)
 
not really ... just HIS TRUCK. lol He just got a brand new (well, new to us anyways) truck this past summer. I am lucky if I get to drive it. hehehehe
Compared to my piece'o'crap van that doesn't even like driving to the next community without the transmission occasionally slipping. Ugh

Joan - you're sounding like DH when he was looking for the right one! He was so happy to get it and now he can't wait to work on it! It's definitely gonna be a work in progress.

Love hearing the stories behind the names! Maybe this could be a challenge or something - pet names or naming inanimate objects - LOL!
 
So this is what happens when I go away for a couple of hours.....You guys are too funny.....We do not or never have named our cars but we did name our camper Little Susie, not sure why...the kids came up with that one!!!! I have to paint it on there one of these days.
