when you hear about the global warming/greenhouse gases issue? the just had a thing on the news tonight about the summit in Copenhagen, how we need to do more drastic things that just switch out light bulbs; we've done so much damage to this planet. it just saddens me. i think its too late though. i don't think we can reverse any damage. we may be able to prevent more damage, but that will take some serious effort, and i don't know if we can.

i just watched "The Day the Earth Stood Still" last week, and it kinda got me thinking, lol.

all of it's just a mess...I listened to the piece about it all on the World News.
My thinking would be if "they" whoever the in charge people are would make some of these changes more affordable for us regular people...such as solar panels for electric...and really get on the ball with alternive fuels for our cars it's only a Win/Win situation. I so worry that my great grandchildren will be living in something similar to that movie by Kevin Costner-Waterworld. Very sad indeed.

Yep, it's sad and scary. I'm trying to make my best but not everything is doable. I think one of the best ways to avoid having to fix things is prevention. Sounds really basic, I know, just let me explain! LOL

Junk, for example, is terrible. Recycling is great, but it's even better to think about the junk we'll produce BEFORE even buying the stuff: do we really need to buy it (or could we use something else, repair an old thing instead?)? Is there a less packaged similar item instead? Here in France you can buy individual portions of yogurt... when you eat yogurt everyday as I do, it's much better (and way cheaper) to buy a big packaging instead of 8 tiny ones. I just wrote an article about that in the town magazine (I work for the town) and it was a great eye opener, I'll definitely try to apply some of those advice.

I can't afford buying organic food, but I can live without tomatoes and strawberries in the middle of winter months, right? I can't buy an hybrid car but I can do my errands by walk or bike since I live in a tiny town... and it'll help me lose some weight! LOL
