does anyone know anything about Wyoming?

Devils Tower is a must see in Wyoming. As for cities, Cody, WY is a great little touristy town with lots to do. We went white water rafting there for the first time and it was awesome. I loved it. Wyoming is the least populated state in the US and you will drive through a whole lot of nothing though. The eastern part of the state is flat and pretty desolute. The western part is mountainous. Its very much a 'western' state.

We drove through Wyoming when we went to Yellowstone a couple of years ago. I have to admit it was one of the most boring drives of my life, and I hope to never have to do it again... BUT we did find an awesome little pizza place that made it all worthwhile in Laramie, WY. LOL It's called Grand Avenue Pizza, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Honestly though, we weren't looking to do touristy stuff, so we just drove straight through. There really wasn't anything to see. I'm sure if we'd had a more structured trip planned, we would've enjoyed it more.

We did the drive from Denver to Yellowstone a few years ago when we lived in Colorado Springs and I'll say that Wyoming is pretty but there's not a whole lot out there along the way, haha. We did stop at the Battle of Little Bighorn National Monument which was cool and only took maybe an hour or so to see (we just stopped there on a whim.)
Since it sounds like you have a little extra time, I'd actually recommend stopping at Rocky Mountain National Park before you leave Colorado and doing the Trail Ridge Road drive. It's not that far out of Denver and the views are like nothing you'll find anywhere else. The road is one of America's Byways and takes you up 12,000 feet into the Alpine tundra - it's really cool, like you're on top of the world, haha.

Rachel, I have no sense of direction so I don't know what is on the way, but I do have a dear friend who lives in Wyoming and is an Outfitter, one of the people who guide hunters. She says there is a lot to do in Wyoming, most of it outdoors. There is a town called Cody where they have the Buffalo Bill Museum and other historical attractions.

We lived in Idaho for several years and made several trips to Wyoming, including several drives to/from Minnesota where we now live. I also grew up vacationing in the Black Hills of South Dakota (just east of Wyoming.) IMO, the easternmost and westernmost parts of Wyoming are the most interesting. It really depends on what you're into.
Devils' Tower is cool. The Wind River mountain range is extremely rugged wilderness and is amazing for backpacking, but not for the faint of heart. I'm actually not all that impressed with Yellowstone -- but it's definitely a must-see if you're in the area since it's so well-known. Personally, I prefer adjacent Grand Teton National Park because it is less touristy, a bit more off the beaten track and certainly more scenic. The towns of West Yellowstone and Jackson are very touristy -- which is not really our thing -- although Jackson is the more interesting of the two.

Devil's Tower is cool, but I believe it's on the eastern part of the state. We loved Cody. We stayed there when we went to Yellowstone as it's not far apart. Beautiful drive between the two. We love The Grand Tetons and also stayed some in Jackson Hole. Once you get south of Jackson Hole it is a pretty boring drive until you hit Denver.

We just got back from Yellowstone 
It was AWESOME!!! We love doing outdoorsy type things - we spent 1 week in Yellowstone. You should definitely see the Grand Tetons while you are in the area. If your into wildlife watching - this has been a great year for seeing bears.
If you can you should also try to see Dinosaur and Fossil Butte. We didn't make it in time to see the actual quarry at dinosaur, but just the hike we did was awesome. We plan on going back someday to see the quarry. Within 1 mile of the quarry visitor center, you could hike to a cliff were are there are literally dino bones sticking out of the cliff. How awesome is that! Fossil Butte is basically an aquarium preserved in stone. In their visitor center, you can look at numerous fossils of fish, plants, and other animals. It's definitely worth seeing the visitor center.
Craters of the Moon was also kinda in that area. At this park you can explore a lava flow (and try to spot Pika as they hide among the rocks). There are lava tubes you can go caving in, hikes to tree molds, cones you can peek into..etc.
