do you have a winter coat?

i was in the shower thinking this morning (don't you all do your best thinking there?), and wondered if everyone (women) was like me....

do you shave your legs as often in the winter as you do in the summer? i realize some of you don't get cold winters so i guess you would be exempt from the question, but for those of you who have distinct summer/winter seasons....does your leg shaving frequency vary?

:p

Yup. I shave less in the winter. My skin is much happier.

I get major rashes and hives when I shave. So all summer and spring and fall, my legs look awful and itch and it's terrible /tmi. I love winter. I still shave, but only once a week. Unless I know I have to wear a skirt/dress.

I have very sensitive skin so the less shaving I have to do the better. I usually shave a couple times a week as opposed to every day.

hahaha
I thought this was about real coats. And I do NOT have a winter coat...the outerwear garment.

I do shave way less frequently and not as...um...thoroughly...in the the winter.

LOL, I was wondering how you'd get through the winter with no winter jacket and then I opened the post.

I'm just like you. Winters in NY are cold and I need a natural coat. And when i do shave...I feel so cold!

I shave every single day no matter the weather. Can't stand any stubble on my legs. I haven't missed a day since my twins were born 14+ years ago. :)

Nope, I don't shave as often. To be perfectly honest, now that I am single, they will probably only get shaved when there is a chance someone other than me will see them. ;)

Yeah- I share my about once a week or once every week and a half... I have my hubby trained though- for the first week after I shave he thinks they are all smooth. lol.

Hahaha It was warmish the other day and I had on capris and my lags were so so hairy that I almost posted a pic on instagram to share but then thought everyone would think I was more of a freak then I already am....now I wish I woulda!!! :p

:D :D :D

I'm super furry!!!

And now that I read everyone elses responses I am still the freak....one a week is stretching it for some of you  I'm talking I shave mine maybe one a month!!! :p

I do the same thing! I'm like "a week? that's how long I go between shaving in the summer!" :D

I live in Florida, so there is no winter and certainly no socially acceptable time to be growing a "coat". LOL! But, I have sensitive skin and shaving more than 2x a week causes problems for my skin. I only shave if I know I'll be wearing a skirt or going out to the pool or the park in shorts. I live in Jeans or Yoga Pants most of the time. Not a big fan of shorts on me... I don't think my legs are my best feature. ;)

i only shave in the winter if i have to go see the lady doctor. bwa ha ha.
and only once a week in the summer.

I shave pretty much the same. I almost always wear knee length skirts/dresses to church on Sundays so I usually shave friday or saturday night. And most of the time, one other time during the week. Even in the summer. My hairs don't grow too fast and they aren't too dark, so it doesn't bother me.

Arm pits though? Much more often. Probably every other day.

For sure I don't shave as often in the winter.

Also . . . I don't have a winter coat. I have either been pregnant or in some other stage of size flux for the last few years, so I've never wanted to spend the money on a coat. I did have a hand-me-down from a friend during my last few pregnancies. But, the result is that I no longer have a good winter coat. And, it is getting COLD here!! Luckily, I mostly move from my heated house to my heated car and it's not often that I'm out in the cold for long periods. I just layer up with long sleeved shirts and fleece. I do need to get a new coat, but that would mean that I would have to go shopping. And, I hate shopping.

I'm single, and I work from home so I'm rarely in anything other than jeans or pajama pants. Unless we're going to an indoor water park or something, that razor does not TOUCH my legs in winter until I feel they're too hairy.
With an 18 month old, I'm lucky to get a long enough shower to even wash my hair, let alone have time to shave... it just doesn't happen unless it has to.

:D This is my line of thinking too Mari!

And we have very distinct seasons and I don't shave as often in the winter either - I also never ever ever wear a skirt or dress so that doesn't factor in either.:p

I was totally thinking the same thing! I do once a month. Once a week is often for me.

I shave anytime I am wearing shorts, capris, a skirt or a dress. If I dont feel like shaving I will usually wear a maxi dress or long pants/jeans. Weather does not factor in for me though being from Florida. And because my hair is naturally blonde (or at least was until I got into my 20's or so) the hair I do get on my legs is not as noticeable if I miss a couple days.

I use to not shave often in the winter. But since I go to the gym daily and wear capris majority of the time I shave to the knee every other day. I've gotten so use to it, it bugs me when they get too hairy for any reason now. I feel like the odd ball.

bwahahaha! I have two (real) winter coats since it gets quite frigid here. And as far as shaving goes- definitely less frequent. Joel hates it. ha ha!

darik hates it, BUT, i only shave about once every couple weeks. in the summer i could easily shave twice a day...so....it is a hairy situation ;)

and yes, i HAVE to shave my armpits everyday. the thought totally grosses me out

HAHAHA - I thought this was a "legit" question!! I was thinking - "yeah - I have a winter coat... I'm in Canada!" Your version of "winter coat" - now cracks me up!! And - I usually don't let my shaved legs get to "coat" length!! ROFL :D:D

Holly :)

I'm single and I shave them once a week in the summer! It's just too much of a chore to do it more often. And we get winter here, and I haven't shaved in probably a month and a half, haha

I usually do, but I've been shaving still just out of habit while I let my conditioner soak. Nothing too thorough...but I have thin and fair hair anyway so I never have to worry much.

I can't stand to let more than 2 or 3 days go by without shaving. I HATE it when im laying in bed and the sheets rub on the stubble- it hurts. And today I was wearing jeans and it was rubbing against the hair on my legs and it was driving me crazy. Ive been known to get out of bed and run the bath water so I can shave my legs if its driving me too crazy. UGH.

And I shave the pits every single day.

O.k. - seriously - is the "winter coat" a legit question - or is it being referred to as not shving legs?? ROFL - people - including myself have taken it to mean a "coat" of hair - as in over-grown, unshaved hair!!! Wow - this is getting to be a crazy thread!! ROFL

Holly :)
