Do you have a method?

When you do a layout, do you plan it?
When you choose the pictures you want to scrap, what's your next step? Do you always try to say something?
What about the challenges in which we must start with a statement or theme? How do you choose then your pictures?

I find myself stuck a lot and more often than I'd like, very dissatisfied with the results, but there really must be a way to better that.

I almost always scrap with a story. If it's an assignment, I go the other way, find pictures that will make the kit shine, etc.

If it's a challenge, I always start with the theme, the rest follows :)

I hardly have time to scrap right now, with work being so nuts, so for me, I usually start with the photo and go from there. DH takes wonderful pics, so the rest usually just comes together.

WHEN I scrap, usually I start with the pics first. I'll browse thru them until something pops into my head for a theme or whatever...then I'll go thru my kits and pick out what I'm going to use. And the FIRST thing I put on my layout is the photos, lol. I know some put those on last, but for me, they're first, and everything builds around them. :)

I'm the same way...photo first!
Rarely a plan...sometimes I have a kit in mind...but not usually! Pic first!

If I have a LO idea in mind then I choose the photo first, then the kit then I put extras from my embellishment stash. Sometimes I do need to work with a particular kit (mainly for my CT) then I choose the photos for that but most of the time I choose the photo first...

I almost always start with the kit and play around and find the photo later. I have so many photos to scrap that to me it doesn't really matter which one I scrap as long as they all eventually get scrapped (wishful thinking lol)

I probably put in the photo about halfway into doing the layout then play around some more.

It really depends for me. If I'm doing a challenge, then I usually start with the inspiration (recipe, cookie, spin-a-lift, etc). Then I choose my photos, followed by a kit or whatever. I make the page's "basics" (background, mats, etc.) and then add the photos. After that, I finish all the details and I do the title very last.
Hmmmm... I guess I do have a method!

It depends for me. Sometimes a kit just speaks to me, and I create my page and then find a photo that goes along with it. Normally I start with the photos that tell a story. I lay in bed at night thinking, "hmmm...what story could I use for *this* challenge?"
