Do you garden?

We had a huge garden when we lived on the East Coast. We grew lots of food and had some gorgeous flower beds that we kept ourselves. Now here in AZ, it's a challenge although we've managed a bit of lettuce and small tomatoes. We have some annual flowers in pots but most everything else is perennial desert planting (and gravel - blah).

Do you garden? What do you grow and how do you grow it (pots? ground? raised beds? greenhouse?)

We (and I mean my hubby...lol) have a garden. Right now we have squash, peppers (a few varities), Kale, lots of herbs, and tomatoes. We also have a dwarf lemon tree and some grapes that are beginning to bud. Our garden is made of mostly raised beds but there are a few things in pots.

I'm jealous! That sounds awesome. Are the grapes for eating or drinking? :D

We've only been in our house two growing seasons... the third us just now upon us. We now have a raised bed that I'll be planting veggies in - corn, zucchini, green peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and perhaps lettuce... the kids want carrots, but I find those harder! lol
I want to put in strawberries also, but those won't give fruit until next season.

I have a flower garden that I started last year and doubled this year. My neighbor has a TON of perennials, and she has been generously gifting me with them. Just today from my mom's house I dug up Peonies, Irises, Day Lilies, and a white Lilac bush then brought them home and planted them again. We are due for some rain, so that should help them settle in nicely. Though nothing is really blooming yet, I think I'll be scrapping my new gardening spaces for the "In Bloom" challenge this month!

I grow some succulents and an orchid, all in pots, in our little balcony that looks like a green house :p

We moved to a house last September that had 2 raised beds and very simple, yet beautiful flower beds all around the house. It's been great! We decided this year to just see if we could keep the landscape growing and that's what we're doing. We found out that the plants out front are actually lilies and should be blooming soon. And that our side plants are peonies and those are starting to bud right now too.

We have inside plants too. One of them is an orchid that i've kept alive since Valentine's Day. I don't know what the other is but it's still green and needs very little water!

For our garden beds, we planted strawberries, lettuce, cilantro, and cabbage. We're going to plant pumpkins, tomatoes, & cucumbers this week now that our last frost is over. We've already got some red strawberries! I'm so impressed with everything that's growing right now!

I have a number of garden beds in the backyard and out the front - some are flowers, small shrubs and herbs (basil, rosemary, thyme, chives, sage, oregano, parsley, etc) which apart from me weeding and watering them now and then have to largely take care of themselves.

I also have a veggie patch - tomatoes, beans, corn, spinach, sweet potato, carrots, beetroot and a few other things I attempt to grow without much success.

Peonies are fantastic! We had some of those and they bloomed only a short time each year but were spectacular.

Sweet potatoes were one of my favorite things to grow! You just kind of ignore them but they grow great. We had so many enormous sweet potatoes we didn't know what to do with them.
