DO you ever . . .

get excited about something going on in digi-land and you go to share about it with a person IRL and then realize that person would have know idea what you're talking about and definitely not get excited with you??

Or is it just me?

Ummm YES, I do it all the time, My son's computer time has been infringed on this week with all my CT LO's and he has all of his friends just calling here randomly and asking me "So, How is National Scrapbook Day going?" LMBO!

I don't even wanna talk about when I got the PM from Dani asking me to join her team...My husband MIGHT(DID) have thought I was NUTS!

LOL! Glad to know I'm not the only one! I have to stop myself before I even start talking now . . . I sat down at lunch with dh today thinking I had something to tell him then remembered it was scrapping related!

LOL...well it's comforting to know I'm not the other one either. DH is so good about just letting me ramble. He know's how nuts I am with all of this. I don't have any other IRL friends that even remotely understand and I forget that sometimes. LOL I have gotten "that look" before too....it is hilarious. LOL

OMGosh, I do this all the time! I used to be this way about Friends, the tv show, like I'd always want to tell someone what happened, like they were people I knew. That was when I realized maybe I needed to stop watching.

But don't worry, girls, I never plan on having that realization about digi land. :p

DH just lets me ramble also! I have been looking forward to Saturday for weeks, and he is being so nice to me and taking the kids out for awhile. He knows how much I love it, I think he's glad I finally have a hobby and can stay out of his hair lol

Yup. I went to tell my BF that I got on a new CT this week and had to explain (again!!) what a CT was and then he was like, 'Oh. Cool.'

When he told me he finished his stock trading (?!) paper for his Finance class and got a 97 on it, I was like, 'Oh. Cool.'

He totally missed my point, but I got it. And felt better. :p

I have stopped trying to talk about this in real life with anyone, since all I get are blank stares  most people dont' really know I 'scrapbook'... most of my church is into Creative Memories, and several friends of mine are consultants. They don't really get that I put the pages together myself, they just think that I have a fancy program or another source for quickpages! So no, even scrapbookers don't understand!!
DH likes that it keeps me happy... and is willing to let me spend a little on it, even though money is tight. He loves what I make, and shows it off to everyone...

I was sooo excited that I got on a CT this week and had to call my best friend IRL. Problem is....she is sooooo NOT a scrapbooker and definitely wouldn't understand. I just bit my tongue when I came to my senses.

Yea, most of my friends don't get it. And worse, they think it's easy and can do it too.

Jordan doesn't really understand either, but he knows it's better to pretend he knows what I'm talking about when I get excited, than be like "What? Whatever" and have to deal with my wrath. :p

LOL It's funny that this came up because last night we were laying in bed and I was crusiing around the net on the laptop to see if I could find out who left AI and I said, OH ,you wanna see something COOL? So I went to the new staff page and scrolled down to my pic, so excitied that it's there that when *I* saw it for the first time I had to do a little dance, rofl and he said "cool". and went back to the remote. And my sister, she tries so hard to understand it, and has even made a comment or two recently that she would like to try digi, but when I first started doing it she would say it was "fake" and she just couldn't understand it. What I don't get is, what's so HARD to understand about it? Sheeeeeesh!

YES! When I got accepted on SaraAmaries CT I was SO excited, but my husband just looked at me like I'd grown a third boob. Same yesterday with Bree's.

Ok - now THAT is funny!!

Fortunately DH also has a busy online life and he does get CTs. He understands that means that I will be spending less money on digi stuff for a period of time, so he's always happy for me. :) He's not always very interested when I tell him about what is going on in the digiscrapping world, but I'm not always very interested in what the libertarians are up to either. So I suppose it's fair. :)

YUP, same here...I got no one to talk to about it around here either...myDS2 likes to watch me do my pages (especially if the picture is of HIM!!!) and looks through my stuff sometimes but that is it...I show a page to DH that I am really proud of and he is like "cool"....that is all I get from him. My SIL gets all giddy when I make pages about my niece Susie though and always wants MORE so I guess I have that going for me. I made her a book for the first year of Susie's life and put the pages on a DVD (with music and everything) ...she played at her b-day party and half the room (the guys) were like...whatever and all the ladies were crying (because I ROCKED THE HOUSE with my layouts!!!) I am just glad I have my friends here to vent and talk to :)

LOL!! I sure do...but it's usually my wonderfully understanding (as in, "Yeah, hon...sure...that's AWESOME!!!!!") husband with whom I share the information. :D

Whenever I get excited about something, I just rattle off about it to my DH. Or I call my sister (who is also a digiscrapper - SHE gets it, lol). Sometimes I tell my mom, ands he just says "uh huh" and "that's good!" lol...

I don't tell anyone who isn't family, cause they'd think I'm crazy. I am, but we don't want them to know that. ;)

Somehow, I think growing a third boob would trump any digi news I could muster. I'm sure it would keep him still long enough so that I could tell him said news, though.

So much on my To Do list today: convince Mandy to dump Johnny, finish master NSD buying list, look into growing third boob...

Where will I find the time?!

LMAO!

As for the master NSD list...one stop: SSD. But I wouldn't make a list...yet...cause it'll all change come Saturday. :D

No one IRL understands my love for design and scrapping or why I spend so much online. And definitely no one understands how much time and care go into creating anything. DH is supportive though because he knows it's fulfilling for me and because he sees what I make and loves it.

Hmmm.... My scrapping...
DH grunts a lot so I think he listens.
My Mummy loves everything I email her (but Mummies have to).
The kids think it's great if they are featured in it.
Sadly my female friends have all moved.
But the pets here are really supportive and encouraging! :D

we're all gonna need therapy....what from being so misunderstood and unappreciated, affairs and adultery over celeb bods, abused for spending so much time online.....growing extra anatomy just to get people to listen to us......the stress of it all will drive us to drink....either that or Dr. Phil :)

what's even funnier is last week when Kristin came to visit with her family. Her and I were sitting on the couch, talking about Bree (yup, we always talk about you Bree! hehe) and the designers who had calls out (Penny and Susan at the time). Both our hubbies made the mistake of asking us what we were talking about. I so loved Kristin's reponse - she turned to Darcy and said, "oh, never mind. you wouldn't get it. it's scrap stuff". lmao
My hubby does understand, because he knows that with all my SWEET gigs, it means less begging for money. lol

I just don't even bother anymore, sadly. When I told DH about NSD a couple of weeks ago, his response was, "Wasn't that just a couple of months ago?" and "Doesn't that happen like 3 times a year?" Um, no.

i'm dying to tell my IRL friends about becoming a Sugarbabe . . . but they wouldn't get it . . . I still might make them look at the staff page anyway LOL

Shannon, that is so funny about the phone calls.

HAHA I talk to mine all the time and he just kind of nods & smiles, I show him my pages and he just says oh nice or something equally as lame. But when the printed pages comes in he loves them & he brags about me to people about how awesome I am. Awww he can think that if he wants LOL He knows nsd is coming because i keep begging him for some money to spend LOL No answer yet.

I can so relate. I try to explain but the blank stares make me get tongue tied and then I feel like I'm confusing the person even more. Then I give up. LOL
Although DH does ask me everyday, "How's the world of Scrap, today?" and always wants to know what's so funny.

yeah, no one in my RL circle gets it! It is like I have two completly serperate lives and then only come together in a LO. super funny!

That's why I'm so glad I have my two IRL friends who are also digi girls (Hey Kyla and Laura!). It's so fun when we get together because we can discuss face to face what's up in digi land instead of Hello. :)
