Do you ever....

So, I was going through my wishlist and moving things into the cart (because 40% off and awesome FWP!) when I came across Quirky by KCB. Now this is a kit that I have looked at often since it came out...but really the colors are not ones I typically use and I don't have a specific story to tell with it, but dang! I just wanted it.

So, I got it! No idea what I'm going to scrap with it, but it makes me happy. Do you ever buy a kit just because it's pretty- even if you don't know what you are going to do with it?

:D Girl, same. I was like, people buy stuff AND use it?

well, I've been scrapbooking a long time and I promised my hubby that if I was gonna buy stuff, I'd actually use it. WHY did I make that promise?!?!? must have been a moment of weakness lol

Like ALL.THE.TIME!!! I usually find a way to use them for a photoless page or sometimes pull a screenshot of a meme or something to use them. I just love all the pretty things too!

Oh my goodness! I **just** scrapped with this collection! It was the word art that really pulled me in! I hope you enjoy scrapping with it. I've loved Kristin's designs for a long time, and I have found I can easily scrap with anything I get. I also like that the collections work well together, so maybe if you are having a hard time creating, give yourself permission to peruse other collections of hers that you have in your stash and see if it will help you round out your page.

It's rare that I buy something with absolutely no plan but occasionally CT duties throw something my way that I wouldn't necessarily use. A good case in point is a fraternity/sorority kit. My little honors college had no Greek life (or really any social life at all). I made a page with college photos for the release and I am now hoarding the alphabet bead alpha to eventually scrap a page about the friendship bracelets I'm making for 22q awareness.

If I buy something with no specific plans, I put it on my spreadsheet with an idea of what I *might* use it for and see what tickles my fancy.

I'm with you, Teri, about only buying things I use. When I first started digital scrapbooking, I realized I was spending upwards of $100 per month, which was WAYYYYY out of my budget. So, in addition to setting a smaller budget, I started asking myself, a la Marie Kondo, will this bring me joy when I use it? Sometimes I buy kits that stress me out because they aren't my style but I feel pressured to use them based on the system I created in my head. ;)

But Quirky seems like a great choice! And sometimes I find that the kits that aren't my style are my colors turn out to be my favorites!

Not usually… but have a ton of kits like that in my wishlist.

When I inevitably have to pare down my shopping cart, those fun, beautiful, kits that I’m inexplicably drawn to, even though I have no reason to use - are the first to go.

The decision to buy kits is, if I like it, if it sparks joy, I buy it!! The second question is, will I use it? I always lie to myself, because I have tons of kits and have scrapped very few layouts. So it's wishful thinking. When I do scrap, I use products from different kits, so everything I buy will come in handy some day. The only regret I have is for stuff I can't buy. I never regret buying something, it gives me a sense of ease and happiness of course. I trust my instinct, if it clicked, it's a yes for me.

All the time! I have so many kits that I haven't scrapped with and yet ... the designers just tempt me with more gorgeous goodies! I have very little willpower when it comes to shopping digikits.

Edited to add I do reign myself in though with themed kits if I know that there is no way I can scrap the theme - the travel and Disney ones I always love but, well I don't travel and am not into Disney!
