Do you ever go to "traditional" crops?

I'm still on my Creative Memories consultants e-mail so I see all the crops she offers. She welcomes digi-scrappers so I've gone to a couple of all day crops that she hosts at a local hotel. (she rents our a meeting room)

I'm considering doing a weekend retreat with them. I feel a little bad because for the most part I'm not even tempted to buy from her which I know is why she hosts these.

So I'm just wondering, do yall go to crops where the majority are paper scrappers and does it matter? On the day ones I don't care, I pay my $25 and at midnight it takes me minutes to pack up instead of an hour so I'm then envy of the room

Yes, but never to CM ones. I have a group of paper scrappers that I go on retreats with once or twice a year - friends from when I used to paper scrap, and I've been to quite a few of the church ones when girls get together, but I've always felt uneasy about going to CM crops when it's an official one since I have no intention of purchasing. Even when I paper scrapped, I didn't do it the CM way, and had one or two very upturned noses turned my way when I'd bring my paper stuff and had CM girls asking me about what I was using, etc., so I just stayed away from CM ones.

i use to paper scrap, so i was big into crops! then when i went digi, i didn't go as much, but did try to make it to the charity crops and no i never felt bad, bcuz in that situation, the cost to go is the money that they want rather than selling xyz. kwim?

I still go, but I also still paper scrap and normally me and my girlfriends go twice a year to a retreat for like 3-4 days and it is FAB!!!

I would if I ever heard about any. :) I did go to a little one with some gals from my church last year. But, they all looked at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears (name that movie :)) when I walked in with my laptop. Whatever!

I never went to a crop at all until after I started digiscrapping. Now I go to 2-3 a year with a group of friends who paper scrap. The ones I go to are big retreat-type crops held in a hotel so they're making their money off of my registration, not the product they sell to me. I love being able to have uninterrupted scrapping time with my friends! Oh, and I'm the preferred table-mate because my neighbors get to use part of my extra space. ;)

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned this consultant isn't a CM snob ;-) Even when I paper scrapped I didn't use much of their stuff, it was really boring back then!

I go to Creative Memories ones with some friends. I buy albums from them when they are on sale, but never digital stuff, because I don't find it great quality... if I compare with what I can get here, for example.

I even went to a week-end retreat last november with them.

I go, but then I'm a glue and stick hybrid girl :p I have a couple I go to each month and I go away for weekend crops too. If it's just a normal crop I print before I go but for weekend reteats I take my laptop and my printer with me and print as I go when I get there. I also fill up my car with my entire craft room and then never use any of it

Heck yeah, I go! Whenever I go, people are amazed that you can scrap on a computer so you hear all the ooooos and ahhhhs. They like to stand there and watch you work for a little bit. Kinda funny!

I never feel obligated to buy anything....if the hostess thinks I should buy stuff, she should clarify that her invitation is contingent upon a purchase, LOL! But most hostesses I know don't feel that way...a purchase is just icing on the cake for them. :)

Yeah, I went to my first one a few weeks ago with my MIL at church.

Now I've got 3 ladies that want to pay me to teach them digi. :)

I go to crops with our local group of scrappers. They are all paper scrappers, so I enjoy learning with them using the kit that is provided. The girl that organise everything is a Stampin'up demonstrator, so I bought a couple items from her this time (it's next week), but only the basic items that I can't find in my favorite online shop: punches, stamps, chipboard stickers, stuff like that.

has anyone ever taken in printed out layouts to one of these things to embellish them with paper scrap things? I thought about doing that ...... Would that be tacky?

I don't think it's tacky. It's still scrapping. No different than going and only digi-scrapping IMO.

I've never gone to a crop, even when I was a paper girl. I'm not organized enough to have all the stuff I want to use on a LO pulled together beforehand, lol.

I've decided to do the weekend scrap - I'm really looking forward to it. Sat. night she is doing a pajama party and sundae bar

I will probably do a few albums ahead of time and make all these chip board albums I have. I'll take my computer of course too.

I really like the idea of taking digi layouts and using paper elements, I may do a few of those too - shake things up a bit.

Yes I go to them with my MOPS group. Everyone is curious about digital :)

I believe CM has their own digital scrapbook software now.
