Well, my mojo got sidetracked today with a Pirate birthday invite emergency. The on again off again birthday parties for my nephew and niece were on, but we would need the invites ready for my nephew tomorrow morning so he could give them out to the boys in his class enough ahead of time. Oh, no big deal, says I. I'll whip those out and be out there for dinnertime! Well, my photoshop has never crashed on me on this computer, in two years. As I'm nearly finished... yep, crashorama! And, of course, as you're in the home stretch and really into a project, you forget to save as much... sooooo, I get back to work, with one eye on the hockey game. Pretty much finish up the super cool invite and quickly make a small jpeg version to send them to check quickly. Yak yak yak on the phone while they look over the invite, one eye still on the hockey game... add in those last few details and get ready to save to disc...
Oh crap, while I was busy yaking to them on the phone, I saved the psd of the reduced image size and proceeded to finish up on that... to the point I couldn't go back to the proper size. D'oh! I wanted to cry! I'm usually so careful about these things! Fortunately, when I had to flatten text layers with a graphic, I'd saved a separate psd just in case. It was a ways back, but it was somewhat simple to repeat my steps from there through to the finish and salvage it. Phew!
Instead of running these out at dinnertime though and having dinner with them, I was getting them printed at Kinkos at 10pm, trimming them there and dropping them off at 10:30 tonight. So much for scrapping! This is what I get for talking them into the party and pirate theme, lol!
The good news is the fun of making the invite (at least it was fun up until the crash and other mishaps!) was pretty inspiring, so hopefully I milk some scrapping mojo from all of it for tomorrow!
