I'm so tickled because I just won this on ebay for only 23 dollars! I've been keeping my eyes open for one in good condition and this one still even has it's original box. My sister and I played with this constantly when we were little. I got one from Santa in like 1977 and we used it so much we wore it out and we got another one later on. My mom still has all the record/storybooks we had but the record player was broken long ago. I'm so excited to find this and can't wait to "play" with it lol

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!! In fact, I was just talking last night about my old 'record player' and how far my music collection has come over the years (as I look at my 3000+ songs on my ipod. LOL!)

Sure did. :) Mine was orange...I wonder if it's hiding in our "kid" containers at my dad's...hmmm...great buy!!

ohmygosh, I had one of those!! I was whit like that but with an orange turntable.

*sigh* childhood memories....

I think this one was made later like in 84...so that's why it's blue...but other than the color it looks just like the 2 we had as kids. I was just happy to find one that works and in good condition kwim? :) Now I can introduce DS to what a record is lol :)

We did not have one, but I would have loved it!! I think I wore out my Snow White album, I listened to it so much. It even had a picture of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs on the vinyl. So much more fun than cds. :)

Oh that brings back memories. I loved mine, until I threw it down the stairs and broke it. I was 5 and so sad it broke. :(

either myself or my best friends ("Aunts" kids) growing up had one.. I can't remember which house it lived at now (we were constantly over each others houses ..even as babies lol) but I do remember it :)

We had an orange one too!

A few Christmases ago my mom wanted to get each of us the thing we always wanted as a kid but never got. My sister got an Easy Bake oven and my brother got Castle Greyskull (which I had to find and buy off of eBay for her). I told her not to get mine as I always wanted a pottery kit but it would be too messy to have around the house with 2 small kids. Hopefully someday I'll get to do some pottery! :)

I Love Ebay!! I got my son a garage I played with when I was little and even did a page about it

I love the feeling of all the good memories it brings back!!!
I hope you have a rocking music blast!!!

We had that garage too..in fact it's at my parents' house and DS still plays with it and all our other old little people toys whenever we go over there. It's so funny that I've bought him several of the new sets of little people and he hardly ever played with them, but bring out my old toys and he'll play for hours. I actually found the little people barn set on ebay and it's coming as one of his Christmas presents. I guess it just goes to show you that newer isn't always better :)

LOL, I haven't seen one of those in a while. I don't have my childhood record player anymore, but I still have quite a few of my records. Sadly my Peter Pan children's storybook records are gone, but I was able to snag my onetime favorite "Tina the Ballerina" on Ebay a few months ago. Listening to it sure brought back memories, and Rachel liked it too!

i totally had one and i seriously loved it. i took such good care of it that when my little friend came over once she was being rough with it and was turning the records on it manually, after a couple times of me telling her to stop and she wouldn't...i reached over grabbed her arm and bit her. hard. she bled. and stopped messing with my player!

moral of the story: sometimes you have to bite the crap out of someone to teach them a lesson.

:D

I had one, too! It was probably orange, though I don't remember for sure. We also had the garage, but not the movie player.

We must be about the same age because I had one a lot like that too. I remember mine being a little more preschoolish looking though. It played "records" that had grooves on the back of it. Is that the same thing? I know mine was made by FP.
