Design Your Life Class?

Did anyone here take Cathy Zielske's Design Your Life class at Big Picture Scrapbooking last year? I'm tempted to sign up as my birthday present this year, but I wanted to hear what other digiscrappers thought of it first. Link to the class description is here, if anyone is interested.

I took it last year and I think it's one of my favorite Big Picture classes I've taken. I actually had someone email me to ask me about this class a few weeks ago and this was my response to her:

The concept for the class is basically learning how to incorporate design basics into scrapbooking design. Each week focused on a different design concept, like balance, repetition, unity, etc, which Cathy explained in a slideshow/video (which were usually like 40+ minutes long, lol!) and then showed examples of it in her own work. There were also sketches (usually at least 3) for each week, in Cathy's simple, clean style, designed to give you practice using that week's concept. Last year she only included sketches but someone in the class made templates each week for digi-scrappers to download. Looks like Cathy will be including them herself this year.

If you're looking to learn a big more about design, then I would definitely recommend taking it. I had taken some design classes in college so I had an understanding already of the basics but even so I still learned some things I didn't know, and I have noticed myself thinking about them more when I do my own layouts, which was kind of the point, haha. But yeah, it was a lot of fun! Highly recommended!

It was definitely one of the more scrapping heavy classes I've taken there. If you wanted to stay up with everything it was a minimum of three layouts a week which for me was a lot. But you can definitely learn a lot without doing all the layouts. You can see one of the layouts I did from the class here: https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=63549&ppuser=167

Thanks, Lynette! That's a great LO. I think I'm going to do it. I'd like the design refresher and the push to scrap more. 3 LOs a week is a lot for me, too, but I think I can handle it at that time of year (as opposed to now--I'm lucky to find time for 1 or 2 right now!)
