Oh no! I'm falling behind! Here's day 5... I'm trying to at least keep track in a notebook what each day's plan is.

Monique, don't stress about "getting behind"! Enjoy the season, makes notes each day, and put it together when you can :)

LOL, thanks. I do know this. I'm just PMSing today which means I'm also stressing over stupid stuff that doesn't make sense... lol. I should be better and caught up by Friday

Gotcha. I just wanted to make sure. It's too awesome a project to get bogged down in instead of enjoying, you know? :)

These are all awesome you guys!

I'm doing my album mostly paper so I've been working on it but haven't posted until now. I decided to make my album start at Thanksgiving so mine goes from Nov 25 to Dec 25.

You can check it out here on Flickr.

wow, that is so much fun Lynnette! I love that!!! :)

Well last night totally put me into a Scrooge mood. Ungrateful people really spoiled my Christmas spirit. I FINALLY found some plain transparencies on monday night (actually just 1 sheet of those report covers you used to use all the time in school), but didn't work on my album at all.

Tonight I'm determined to get some stuff done. I'm gluing and cutting and listening to Christmas music and enjoying myself. I have to re-adhere my cover (AGAIN) but I'm not letting it get me down. :) Nothing like playing with pretty paper to get you back in the spirit right?

Wow Lynnette, that is just amazing!!! Did you set it up ahead of time or doing it as you go? I love all the little envelopes!

I've lived in SA pretty much my whole life and I've never been to the river parade, I need to put that on my list of things to do!

Lynette, that is really cool. Next year I will try to do one more like yours but this year I am doing a simple one and I am just proud I am actually caught up!

Here's my spot for the second week. I'm missing a few days, hopefully I'll get caught up this weekend between hockey games ;)

Gorgeous Lynnette!! I think next year I'm gonna start mine at Thanksgiving too because we always get our tree the day after and then decorate the house that weekend so I totally missed that for my book this year!!! :( Who knows if I get time maybe I'll got back and scrapp those pages since I did take pictures and I have some journaling jotted down in my Month In Review document I keep!!! Hmmm....maybe!!!

Definitely Elizabeth! I have 2 or 3 days so far that we didn't really "do" anything, that I plan to do filler stuff with. I'll fill 1 day with a spread about my favorite ornaments and their stories, I want to do a spread about my favorite Christmas memory from my childhood, etc etc. In 10 years you won't think to yourself "that totally did not happen on Dec 11th", you'll be grateful for the story and the photo's and the journaling :)

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited by how it's turning out considering this is one of like maybe 3 paper projects I've done...ever. Now to just keep up with it through the whole month!

I've lived in SA pretty much my whole life and I've never been to the river parade, I need to put that on my list of things to do!

I set my book up ahead of time, similar to how Ali puts hers together. All the foundation pages with numbers (transparencies, envelopes or multi-photo page protectors) were put together beforehand. The pages for Nov 25-30 I put together this year but the rest of the album I actually put together last year to use for my 2009 album but at the last minute decided not to do an album at all because I was traveling so much.

I also set up Photoshop files for each day that include templates with bleed and crop marks already set to the correct sizes for that day. SO much easier than trying to measure each page every day. They look like this:

Having everything prepared ahead of time has been a HUGE help. It is so much easier and faster to just clip my photos, print, cut and glue and be done with that day. Plus I like the challenge of adapting whatever story I'm telling to that day's premade page - it's kind of like a puzzle.

This is exactly why I decided to start on Thanksgiving too. We always do the outside lights and tree that weekend and I already knew we were going to the parade the day after Thanksgiving so I wanted to capture that too. I'm not normally a stickler for chronology but coming into December with a back-log of stories from previous days really bothered me, haha. So far I'm loving starting my album earlier this year since it's more in line with what I consider the holiday season.

Lynnette, that is TOTALLY gorgeous! I love it! For this project I really do prefer the paper look over digi, but I just couldn't finish it last year, so this year I'm going digi, but decided to do a different shaped album than my usual square just to shake things up.

Well Lynnette (and Col)...you convinced me to go back and scrap the last few days of November...when we actually start the holiday season!! I have 2 pages completely done and my Thanksgiving Day page 3/4 of the way done!!

The only bad thing is....I pick a template that took vertical photos and starting on the 1st I made sure I took "enough" vertical to fill it...well I didn't do that for the few days in November....so some of those pages are gonna look funky...but I just told myself to let go and that they are gonna look fine....so if they look stupid...DON'T TELL ME!!! :D :D :D

If you wanna check them out I put them in the old thread so I can keep my pages "in order"!!!

Lynette that album is gorgeous!!

Elizabeth, I think the different orientation of the November pages looks great.

Lynnette...where did you get some of those fabulous transparencies?

These ones I bought at either a local scrapbook store or from Two Peas:
  • The red flocked transparency on Day 25 is by Fancy Pants.
  • The number transparency on Day 28 is by Teresa Collins.
  • The circle transparency on Day 4 is by Hambly Studios.

The transparencies I used for Days 1 and 2, I printed on ink-jet transparencies at home.
  • The Day 1 transparency is from this template set by Ali Edwards. I resized it and turned off the background layers so just the red lines and text printed. Then I just stitched my paper squares directly onto the transparency so I wouldn't have any glue marks.
  • The Day 2 transparency was inspired by these Gratitude circle elements. I created my own Christmas version and printed it onto a transparency at home.

Our 5th wedding anniversary was on Friday so I'm a bit behind on my pages. Will be working on catching up on days 8-12 later today. How is everyone else doing?
