The Ghost of Awesome Past
My husband always wants the tree up as soon as possible, so we actually had it up on the Friday after Thanksgiving. When I was a kid, my mom always put up the tree on Dec 16th. My birthday is the 15th and she didn't think it was right to have a tree up before my birthday. No matter what day of the week it was, our tree was decorated on the 16th. :)

So what about all of you? Tree up already or waiting until we are further into December?

We put ours up on the 1st but not all the decorations since I ran out of hooks LOL.

Every year I try to wait until after Moriah's birthday, but since her birthday is on the 22nd, it means I don't get to enjoy the Christmas decorations for very long... plus, we're usually out of town for her birthday... so after a couple years, I decided that she's just going to have to get used to having Christmas decorations for her birthday... but I make sure her birthday is totally separate from Christmas, so birthday paper and birthday decorations and her own special cake...

I like to have the tree up on the Friday after Thansgiving. This year everything's moving a bit slower because of my knee surgery. Hopefully we'll get the decorations out of the attic today and we'll get the tree & decorations up over the next few days.

I don't have my tree up yet. I don't have any decorations up yet. USUALLY I have mine up the first week in December. I never do it the weekend of Thanksgiving though because I am spending time with extended family, going to movies, ect. This year, I just haven't been in the mood. I need to snap out of it and get it all decorated. I probably won't have a tree this year due to my crazy child, Peanut. I will do stockings and a wreath. My 6yo son also has a small christmas tree in his room......this year it is cowboy themed.

Our tree is up but not decorated until tomorrow. We usually do it right after Thanksgiving, but we had a whole bunch of family visiting this year.

Already up, well, not technically, but it will be by the end of the day. We're heading into town shortly to pick one up. :)

I was hoping to have it up this weekend, but DH had to go out of town due a family emergency and I want to wait until her gets back home before putting it up. It just wouldn't feel right otherwise.

We've been going back and forth about getting a real tree this year and just today decided against it, so we'll be putting up our fake tree today or tomorrow.

I always want to put it up day after thanksgiving, but we're always busy and it waits a few days. This year we got it up on the 1st.

My tree is up - it went up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It's a pre-lit tree, so the lights are there, but we haven't hung any decorations. And, I'm starting to feel like we won't do any additional decorating this year. I have a really hard time getting my kids to keep their hands off the tree, and it will only be worse if we add decorations, so I may just skip it this year. We'll see if they can convince me to lug up the boxes of decorations from the basement.

Our tree always goes up the Friday after Thanksgiving unless we are out of town. I love Christmas decorations and try to have them up as long as possible.

my parents are getting the tree tomorrow. i made them promise to leave my ornaments off, so i can put them on when i get home in a week and a half.

Ours went up this afternoon.

We always do it the first Saturday of December due to our being out of town for Thanksgiving.

I love putting ours up right after Thanksgiving, sometimes even that evening, but by the day after Christmas, I'm ready for it to come down. I enjoy it so much while it's up, though.

Ours is already up, though the ornaments could still use a bit or rearranging to spread them out a bit :D Kyle likes to try to fit as many ornaments in one spot as he can lol! We generally put ours up sometime during the week of Thanksgiving depending on how busy we are.

The last few years it has been the Sunday after Thanksgiving. With all the shopping fun on Friday and then Saturday is a big football day, so we just wait until Sunday, and that has been working. This year we got it up on Saturday night with lights, garland & bulbs and then decorated the rest on Sunday afternoon. But we also go a new tree, star & bulbs this year, so I couldn't wait. ;)

Yes, the tree is up..... but all the rest of the decorations and ornaments are still sitting in the boxes next to it. :D In years past, I always put it up on the Friday after Thanksgiving - but then doing Dec Daily, I wait until the 1st so I can document it in the book... this year, my dad was still here recovering from surgery and just haven't had any holiday spirit or desire to get it up... even christmas music isn't helping... today we went to see the Muppet Movie, so it didn't get decorated either... *fingers crossed* tomorrow will be the day the house is filled with decor magic. I really could use some of those elves that Target talks about... ;)

We put up everything last weekend. I'm ashamed to admit that I am in the worst mood when putting it all up. We have a LOT of stuff and no one sticks with me the whole time so I do most of it by myself. And I have to get it done on the weekend since I work full-time. So I'm grumpy when I do it.

Holly - LOVE!!!! your siggy!!! :)

mine's up :) we put ours up as soon as we get home from thanksgiving so that we'll have plenty of time to enjoy it. i leave the decorations up until jan 1st or so - because we have guests the week after christmas until new years and i don't want to do any work while they are here.

Andrew actually tossed our tree and most of our ornaments when we moved last year, so we need to replace things. We found a tree (nothing at all like I wanted, but it was $30 and pre-lit), now we'll get ornaments piecemeal over the next couple weeks. :cursing:

My 6yo son also has a small christmas tree in his room......this year it is cowboy themed.

**gasp** cowboy themed? Is Pistol Pete adorning your son's tree??? :D

We put up our tree the day before Thanksgiving, and then decorated it during the parade Thanksgiving morning. It was the easiest time for me to do it, since Rachel was off of school 5 days in a row...at least it occupied her for a good while.

Ours always goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving, usually on Sunday. Then I decorate the rest of the house that week. I like to get stuff up early because I love to enjoy it before Christmas, because as soon as Christmas is over I want it gone, lol. My tree usually comes down Dec 26.

It's out and just sitting in the living room.. We actually debated today about even putting it up.. It's just not the same joy as before.. I'll leave it up to the lil one's to decide now...

I got a tree last Saturday and put lights on it, we added ornaments this last Tuesday. In previous years, it's taken a lot longer to get our house decorated :)

We normally have ours up on the 1st of December, but with Des working out of town, we decided to wait until he is home this year, which will be the 15th. I plan on digging out the Christmas boxes and start decorating (minus the tree) tomorrow or Monday. I am just not in the Christmas spirit this year, but I know I need to do it for the kids.

We have a real tree and will be going to cut it down tomorrow afternoon after Cheyanne's travel game. This year we are actually putting it up a week earlier than usual - we usually wait until the 2nd Sunday in December. It wlil be all decorated tomorrow too since I also work full-time and won't have time during the week between work and bball. We take it down on New Year's Day.

It goes up Black Friday.. the kids did it themselves this year instead of waiting for me b/c I was too tired. It comes down New Years Eve Day.
