Dates on Pictures

What is the best way to get rid of the red dates that used to be printed onto our pictures? My current technique is to just cover it up with a flower! Lol!

I think that depends on the photo. If it was against a uniform background (grass, carpet, a shirt, etc), you can use one of the healing brushes or the patch tool set to content aware fill (in Photoshop). But if it stretches across a more complex part of the background, you may want to stick to the flowers!

Thanks guys! On the ones I'm working on now the date is across a complex part of the background so maybe I'll just stick to my flowers! I thought maybe there was an easy way. Why did we think those dates were a good idea?

Layer another photo over it, or a journal card, or tag. Or the flowers are fine! I like that we know what dates the photos were taken on even before digital/metadata was possible, but it's too bad they didn't put it in a frame or something instead of on the photo. Live and learn!
