Dang mosquitos!

Ugh! It's so nice and cool out this morning, so we go out to play and I look down and see 5 mosquitos helping themselves to my legs. Avery had them on him too so we just had to come back inside...I can't handle them biting him and worrying about west nile...we live in the woods.. I mean literally IN the woods so they've been bad all summer...I'm so sick of them!
 
Ick, Im sorry honey :( West nile is a big problem here too but since its getting cooler I havent really noticed them lately around our parts. I hope you get out soon and they leave you guys alone! When we went on our family reunion back in Jly tey were completely ruthless!
 
I know, it's been a little cooler here too so I thought they were gone. Well, my dd got bit by one yesterday and she is allergic (or has a bad reaction) to mosquito bites. It was even in the early afternoon!! I bet it is bad in the woods too :(
 
They just won't go away!!!!! My husband killed a HUGE one last night!!! It was horrible all summer and is showing no sign of slowing now. :(
 
I haven't seen one in a while around my house ... now flies and BEARS, yes, but not many mosquitos.
Yup, I had a bear in my completely fenced back yard last night. Ugh.
 
my kids have been permanently covered in them this summer. probably one of the worst summers so far. its crap.
 
There actually weren't many mosquitos here this summer - which is amazing because usually there are SO many! It was actually quite nice, lol. It's WAY too cold here now for them to be out - though we have tons of flies (and this time of year they are both stupid and slow, lol...easy enough to kill though).
 
I'm with Bree!! Especially since we are so close to each other...LOL!! I have only seen a couple mosquitos this year and I haven't really seen too many flies either!!

Mosquitos don't like me though so I'm not too worried about them....LOL!!
 
Well mosquitos like me and I am covered in bites. And I do not react well to the bites. I get huge hives and sometimes a fever and chills. Since Ike blew through the mosquitos have been horrible. I am on a mission to find more Off today. Every place around me is sold out.

My grandmother always used Skin-So-Soft by Avon and the mosiquitos were never around!! Maybe give that a try and see if they leave you be!! I used it on dd and she never gets bitten either!!
 
This summer was definitely worse than normal around here too, for mosquitos. Hate the suckers. I take great joy in killing them.
 
Yes I've definately noticed it being worse since both hurricanes came through...we also got TONS of love bugs blown up this way when Ike passed below us. They are HORRIBLE at night and while they don't bite or anything they literally cover the front of your car if you have to get out and drive at night.
 
yep they are bad here too. We pretty much have them year round and like you kinda live in hte middle of woods. Well most of our property is now cleared but there are still clumps here and there and that is where the mosquitos really gather. Then we have a huge drainage canal next to our property and it is got all this nasty stagnant water in it. Mosquitos there too
 
There really bad here too.. it's so hard for my little man to be inside all day but I don't know what to do. Spraying him with spray doesn't help much. At least he gets to play outside when he's at school on MWF.
 
It's Global Warming folks. Those pesky critters never use to be a problem for us where we live, and its in the woods too, but the last two years we have been hit hard. I am a diabetic and so every bite I get (they love me too) leaves a scar because I scratch them and the they don't heal for months. I hate those things. :thumbdown: :cursing:
