CYOA - Questions Megathread

ROYGBIV stands for the colors of the rainbow in order that they appear.
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet

Google search said:
ROYGBIV is an acronym for the sequence of hues commonly described as making up a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet

:)

OK, thanks so much.
Major blonde moment there. lol. I was way over thinking that one

What is a smashbook?

From Google:

A smash book is a journal that's a combination of an art journal and a photo album, where you can write, draw, paint, and glue things in without much planning. The name comes from the idea of "smashing" all kinds of things into the book.

I picture something like this:

Am I missing where to post our challenge layouts? I know in the gallery, but are there threads for each challenge or just the links?

Ack. You are right, Lea. Thank you for rechecking it.
I am so sorry for the wrong information I gave. I haven't been doing the challenges, so my memory is rusty about it. You just need to post the challenge card filled with your completed layouts.
Is that a requirement to post the links? In the past I thought we only needed the picture of our layout on the challenge card.

Ok! Good! ;)

Another question coming your way!

For the moodboard, is there a specific place you want it posted so that designers can see the inspiration? I posted mine in the regular challenge gallery but not sure what else to do with it. It won't be seen and will just get buried by other beautiful layouts.

I don't understand this challenge:
Oct 2010: Portfolio #18 - Six Word Memoirs
What are we supposed to do? I don't get it! lol!
Thank you for your help ladies!:)

I searched out the October 2010 challenge thread. lol It said to "Create a layout which features a six-word memoir" and the link that Vanessa included on this month's CYOA thread takes you to a site with examples of six-word memoirs. Here's a few layouts that were submitted in 2010 for that prompt:
Remember to see past the clouds
She's the heart of a family
No end to a mother's love
What a difference a year makes
Once broken now strong and happy

Hope that helps!

I also didn't understand at first without the thread posted but I just went with one of the prompts on the linked site and used it in my layout.

I'm reading the what era are you in a bit too literal. I went to Google for help and apparently it had the same line of "thinking". This is what Google gave me " Cenozoic ("new life") era is sometimes called the "age of mammals" and is the era during which we live today. "

So what am I missing? The only other" era" I can think of is the Victorian era, but I don't know what other eras there have been. I'm super embarrassed that I'm not able to figure this one out but I'm not going to on my own apparently

Not sure if this is correct but maybe it will help. I saw these on Master Chef!
1997 to 2012: Generation Z
1981 to 1996: Millennials
1965 to 1980: Generation X
1946 to 1964: Baby Boomers
1928 to 1945: The Silent Generation

I am sure someone will clarify soon.

I take it as I'm in my: Soccer Mom Era or Mom of Teens Era or Empty Nest Era or Fabulous Fifties Era, etc.
If I were approaching the prompt for a layout...that's how I'd look at it. :D You could focus on your age, but it seems fun to focus on what stage of your life your in right now.
Hope that helps. :hugs:

I read this as like: 'In my Swiftie era' or 'In my Disney Cruise Line era'... things like that.
But maybe it has to do with what generation you are, so when you were born.

For me it helps to wait until the explanations on Tuesdays if I think a prompt is too hard... or skip it and check what others did during the month.

Where will I find the "World of Color" Collabs?

I just read that one is coming for DSD this weekend, the other one was your reward for scrapping along during the summer (but if I read it right, it should be available this weekend too).

Do y'all know the collection used to make the card for October? I feel like I should know the kit, but not recalling it. I love that cup of tea, pumpkin latte and apple preserves.

Thanks for the help.

For the NOV challenges, this challenge link goes to a Pinterest board- November 2013: Scrapper’s Portfolio Challenge #13. Are we supposed to use that board as inspiration for our page or are there more directions? Just need some clarification!
