Cutting my hair completely OFF

On Thursday, it's gone. I'm tired of pony tails every day. I need something fresh, so I'm chopping it completely off, like REALLY short.

I haven't done this in about 7-8 years. My hair grows quickly, so I'm not worried about not liking it, I mean, it's only hair, it grows back. My stylist is one of the best, she listens to me, and helps me figure out what will work. She should too, for how much she costs!

But I have no idea what I want, it's been ages since I had really super short hair, and I don't even know what's cool now. Any suggestions? And when I say short, I mean mega short. Like gone. LOL!

Oh and I'm colouring too, so this should be really fun (and expensive LOL)
 
I don't have any suggestions. I cut my hair completely off back in November and now I'm regretting it. I MISS the ponytails!
 
Gone like a pixie cut, or gone like a bob?

I heart my little bob cut, but Jordan HATES it. So I'm growing it out for the wedding.
 
Mandy, I've cut my hair before, and always loved it super short, but it grows so quickly. With three little ones, I never had time to maintain it, but now that the kids are bigger, I'm going to make the time!

I'm open to just about anything Col, I just want something that looks nice. My hair is fine and it just doesn't do well when it's long, it looks stringy even when I spend a ton of time on it.
 
I do the same thing as you Jamie. My hair will be super long and then I'll chop it all off. I've got it super short right now and LOVE it.

I LOVE this cut but my hair is too thick and wavy to pull it off

My hair is longer in front and spiky in the back and it's SOOO easy to take care of. I have to get it cut about every 4 weeks but it's so nice and easy to take care of. I'm all about short and sassy now.
 
I'm thinking of a different cut too...but my hairdresser is good with the color/highlights but sucks with the cut. I like her prices on my highlights...but jeesh my sister who went to beauty school says my cut is one of the first ones you learn in school but the lady just can't get it right. I'm afraid to go elsewhere with my highlights because my hair can be "hard to take to color"...even at the beauty school the teacher was stumped. lol

Ohhhhhh...if I were to chop my hair, I might do that second one Laura posted. That is CUTE! I'm way too attached to my hair though, lol!

Sharon, there's nothing wrong with having one person cut your hair and another color it. I do that. My stylist is great with cutting my curly hair, especially since she has the same type of hair, but she SUCKS at color and admits it. I see another girl in the same salon for color--she admits that she's not so great with cuts. It all works out in the end. ;)
 
I cut mine from shoulder length to shorter than chin length a few weeks ago and love it. It is so much easier.

That's so weird. I'm positive my dh couldn't give a crap what my hair looks like and probably doesn't even KNOW what my hair looks like. LOL
