CS6 text not working!!

I recently DLd PS CS6 with a creative cloud membership. This is the first time I've used it after DLing this, and the type tool won't work! It says something is preventing my tool from initializing. I can't scrap without my text tool. Has anyone come across this problem and know of a way to correct it?

That would be so frustrating. Have you tried closing it down and reopening?

The few times I've gotten that error message everything worked perfectly after I restarted my computer. Good luck!

That's so frustrating! I'd re-start too and if that didn't work I'd be contacting Adobe.

Yeah, I'd try a restart as well but it may also be a font you have installed isn't playing nicely with the type tool. Photoshop is touchy like that, especially if you use a lot of free fonts.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies! I did try closing and opening, restarting- neither worked. So I uninstalled and then re-installed and it still would not work! I searched around online and finally found a few places said to delete a specific folder - can't remember the name of it - but it worked finally!!
