CS3 question on defaults

Ok CS3 is driving me nuts ... suddenly these 2 features are set DIFFERENTLY than they used to be ...

Each day when I open CS3 and bring up either a JPG or a PSD file ... this is happening:

- a grid is over the picture (turn off: VIEW + EXTRAS)
- if i click on an item on the page it won't visually select it like it used to (EDIT + FREE TRANSFORM or CTRL + T)

How do I get it so that CS3 opens up fresh ... and the grid is turned off and the Free Transform is automatically chosen? (I have auto select layer turned on)

Somehow it just suddenly changed one day and even though I change it and then get out of CS3 ... the next time I open it up ... that stupid stuff is changed again.

You possibly have to reset your preferences by holding down shift + ctrl + alt keys when starting up Photoshop. Hope it helps!

Personally I always uncheck the auto select - to avoid accidently moving something.
