My husband has diabetes.
Crap.
We pretty much knew this was coming, but it still sucks. DH has a close family history of diabetes (his dad) and lives a highisk lifestyle (very overweight, poor diet, etc.). He's always been closely monitored by his doctor and has, in the past few years, become "pre-diabetic". For the past month or so he's been feeling increasingly bad and has started exhibiting the classic signs of diabetes like excessive thirst, frequent urination, increased fatigue, etc. I finally nagged him into getting another blood test done on Monday and the results came in the mail today

His fasting (12hr) glucose level was a whopping 271!!! For those of you that don't know what that number means, let me put it in perspective...
Anything lower than 100 is considered "normal"
Anything 100-125 is considered "pre-diabetes"
and
Anything over 126 is diabetic.
DH's was 271.
Damnit.
I don't know whether to cry or yell or throw something. Guess I'll just try to get some sleep.
