court today

We did not get to talk at all. The guy who hit my husband and his attorney were called up and the lawyer asked for dismissal because the FHP officer had 180 days to issue a ticket and it was issued in 200. They had to wait for my husband to be able to talk to them in order to finish the case and issue the ticket. The homicide investigator was not in court. He is on vacation. So it was all dismissed. The guy does not get a ticket. He does not get a suspension. He does not have to pay any fine. There will be no record of this on his driving record. The FHP officer who talked to us said homicide charges can still be made but I dont think it is going to happen.

wow, that is just plain crazy. I can't believe it!! I'm so sorry you and your family have had to go through this whole ordeal. I only hope that the guy who caused it is feeling remorseful and has learned his lesson, even though it seems that justice isnt being served!! I can't imagine what you are feeling.
 
Wow. I am so sorry. I can't believe he isn't being charged with vehicular manslaughter or anything like that.
 
Jessica - i really hope you'll take this up the chain of command with the police department and the news stations. This is really uncalled for that they were so negligent to let him get away with this because they couldn't be bothered to do their jobs.

That is just sick, awful, unacceptable. Not even a ticket?? :( HUGS!!!!! I agree with Darcy, I'd take this to the local news.
 
Wow....I'm speechless...I just don't even know what to say!!! I know that "I'm sorry" just seems so inadequate but I am...I am so very sorry that you and your family are being hurt like this!!! Big giant ((((hugs)))!!!! :(
 
I cried for a long time today. Now I am angry. I am not going to give up this man should have some consequences for his behavior and since nobody else is going to continue trying to make it happen I will. Even if I have to go to the courthouse everyday to try to find someone to listen to me.
 
Good for you!!! Go get him. I'm so angry for you right now! It is inexcusable that this man is getting off. I'm with Darcy: hit up the news agencies..start a petition on change.org...MAKE them listen to you. Do you have a lawyer as well?
