Cookies?

It just dawned on me that today is December 1st (yeah, I've been way out of touch with reality this week :D! Totally in denial that winter has arrived and Christmas is only 25 days way).

Anyhoo - it made me think of the SSD Christmas Cookies of years past and whether or not there will be cookies this year :)
 
I don't think I got enough sleep last night. I saw the title of the post and my first thought was cookie recipes, then my next thought was maybe it was about those cookies on the computer :D
 
Oh no....no cookies this year? I can't imagine December without them! I've been around three Decembers and loved those cookies.....

LOL Kate - I have been baking Christmas cookies for the past 2 weeks and freezing them so I've had those kind of cookies on the brain too!:thumbup:
 
oh rats, I was hoping for the December cookies too! Now I want the other eating kind of cookies as well!
 
I'm bummed too. The cookies are what got me involved last year. I may have to eat a few of the real thing to make up for missing the SSD version. ;)
 
Also, I have the feeling that the Sweet Shoppe is still going to spoil us. There are new freebies in the Shoppe and if you get the newsletters from all the designers, there are definitely goodies to be had! I have subscribed to all the designer newsletters and there are some AMAZING goodies!
 
Yeah, I've been checking the forums too, in hopes to snatch some cookies again this year! They're always a big fun factor each year here at SSD!
 
Me, too --- I've been looking forward to SSD cookies. Thanks Brooke, I'm looking forward to Dec. 6 and your tree template!
 
hmm... I wonder if the staff is working hard on something else behind the scenes :hugs:

I know it's sad, it's how I got super involved here too and how I got onto Traci's team 3 years ago... they definitely will be missed :crying:
 
Hey chickies,

We originally started doing cookies for kids as a charity effort to raise money for Toys for Tots. However, the interest in the store really dwindled drastically each year so we were doing all the work with less and less profit to give to charity. As a result I made the decision to discontinue the program this year so our staff could focus on other products during the busy holiday season. C4K will be missed, but I hope you agree that we're still able to find ways to spoil you throughout the year.

Let's all be sure to remember to donate a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots this year! Even if we're not having Cookies for Kids, the need for toys is still there!
 
Robin, we absolutely cannot complain here at SSD.....but the cookies were my favorite...and donating to charity at the same time is great.
But I can understand your point....now with the crisis people think more like: why would I buy for $10 if I can have them all for free too? So I totally understand your decision.
