Confession thread:

1. When I play Sims I get so into it I totally disregard my own needs. "Wow I'm busting to go to the toilet but at least virtual me is doing well in her professions"

I can SO relate! I had to have an intervention to get me "off" the Sims and now when I pass by it on the shelves in stores my stomach does backflips. Must. Not. Buy.

ok my 3 . . .

1) Last week I printed the 388-page Log Your Memory book at my office when nobody was around so I wouldn't have to pay for the ink or paper to do it. Then I "borrowed" a binder to put it in. (don't worry i'll bring it back . . . maybe)

2) I never make my bed. Even if I have company coming over, I just sweep the duvet over it all to hide the mess underneath.

3) I am an obsessive-compulsive hoarder of digital scrapbooking products. I buy SO MUCH MORE than I need or could ever possibly use. Case in point: I joined the Sweet Shoppe Portfolio challenges but I had never shopped here much before so I had few products to use in my layouts. I had to buy some, right? Sure. M'hmm. Over the course of the last 23 days, "some" quickly turned into . . . . $96 :o i need help.

You non bed makers are freaking me out. My bed MUST be made always.

When I was sick with h1n1, I'd get up periodically and make it and get back in. And I washed the sheets every day during that time, too.

I've been known to make the bed while dh is up using the bathroom. LOL

Oh my I am about to spit my coke everywhere! This is the best thread ever!!!

1. I drink Diet Coke all day. I mean ALL. DAY. What is this water people speak of?? My poor kidneys.

2. I pretend I am way more organized than I am. I set up all these OCD notebook systems for tracking stuff at work and in my scrapping world- but in the meantime my bank account is about to go negative and my house is a disaster zone. :p

3. I get so behind at work because I cannot stand to go too long without checking my favorite digi forums! It is nothing for my workers to find me browsing through scrapbooking galleries and, bless them, they know if they enter my office they are at risk of being told to look at a LO! ;)

I chew on ice constantly. I sometimes have my husband go to the gas station just for ice.

I do not wear jewelry of any kind. If I did wear anything it would be a watch. I do not like rings or necklaces although I do own a few I just dont wear them.

Ive never had a professional manicure or pedicure in my life. I rarely wear nail polish anymore. I just keep my nails really short and unpolished.

Oooo, I've got more.

We usually just grab clean towels out of the clean laundry baskets. But every few weeks I will decide to sit and fold them and haul them to the linen closet. Then when there is freaking out that there are no towels to take a shower I calmly say "Did you look in the linen closet?" Like, duh, that's where they should be right? Even though they only get there about once or twice a month. Bwhahaha.

And I'm not a bed maker either. At best I will pull a big comforter over to hide what's going on underneath.
I actually had a discussion with someone at work about this who was taught as a child to make her bed because what would people think if she died? (Ok, what a way to teach a kid something). All I could think was "Who the heck cares what somebody thinks of me after I'm dead? and cr*p, I wasted ten minutes making my bed when I could have been living my life."

And I don't wear a watch either.

Glad to see I'm not the only iCarly fan! lol, I set my cell phone alarm so I don't forget when the new specials are coming on.

I have to admit I'm a laundry freak! If I get it all done and put away, and find I missed something-anything, a towel, sock, whatever, I have to pull out enough clean clothes to make a load to go with it and wash it all. I'm ok to let it pile up enough to make a couple loads, but when it's all done and put away, it has to be ALL done.

When one of my twins has an accident, I make them both change their clothes so they're still in coordinating outfits... I dread the day the become independant enough to want to dress themselves.

Here's one that drives dh crazy. I'm super nosy about the inside of people's houses. When I go on walks, I always look in windows and I love it when front doors are open, I can get a better view. I just love to see the inside of other people's houses. I love it when people post pics, I'm always checking out what's in the background, how the walls are decorated, what stuff they frame for the walls, how their furniture sits... I especially love complexes, where all the houses are the same layout, but everyone does different things with furniture placement...it fascinates me...

I'm not a piler ... my house was overthrown and taken over by the Paper Monster! grrrrr

I am addicted to digi scrapbooking and do over 500 layouts a year ... and enjoy every minute of it!

As a result of this addiction ... I have a full CLOSET of scrapbooks that I have created (I used to be a paper scrapper) over the last 17 years!!! ...floor to ceiling scrapbooks ... with only 1 1/2 shelves not filled!

I love the VeggieTales much to my teenaged sons embarrassment ... who have banned me from owning the videos any longer or watching them in the house!

DEFINE ... "bed makers" ... what are they? Are we talking manufacturing plants?? Surely you can't mean that people actually try to make their beds look like the ones in the magazines with the sheets pulled up, the comforter tucked in and around the pillows? C'mon people do those people REALLY exist ... now think about this for a minute ... those people get PAID to make a bed and give everyone else a guilt complex ... are you really giving in to the guilt by associating with these people??

I do this too! DH haaates it. If people have their drapes open you can beat your bunny I'm looking in! :p

Post 3 of your deepest, darkest confessions:

I'm a piler. An awful piler (or maybe a really good one since there are SO many all over the house?!?).

I adore canned chili.

I like to listen to Barry Manilow on occasion.

Darcy, I love you. Right now I'm in the middle of trying to do something about my piles, but it's been a lost battle for years. I'm a piler if there ever was one. And what I needed to hear was that there were other people like me in this world! :-)

So.

1. I'm a piler. On the other hand, my CDs are thematically arranged and my clothes are sorted according to colour. So the mess is on the outside, not on the inside. :-)

2. I'm often to be found eating Crunchips at late evening hours. I can resist sweet stuff, but salty stuff... Not that much.

3. I'm supposed to be awfully intellectual, but I totally dig shallow dance music. In the past three years my Christmas preparation soundtrack was, respectively, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Lady Gaga. People who think I listen to Christmas music while doing all my thematic creations might be, eh, surprised. :-) I'm not even ashamed for this. :-)

I think rather than a "piler" I'm a "hider". I have boxes and boxes in our closets full of the stuff that usually would get piled up. I can't stand to see it so I hide it away in boxes rather than go through and sort it all. Then whenever we have to move I just usually toss them all out.

I too am addicted to dt. soft drinks. I drink between 3-5 dt. mt. dews a day...I am always aware of how many I have left in the house and I'm always sure to keep some emergency supply.

I am uber-conservative...and I like that way :)

I am a TOTAL germaphobe and wash my hands like a million times a day..kids too and if we go anywhere I wipe down anything we may touch with antibacterial wipes first..then we all use hand sanitizer. I make DH wash his hands as soon as he comes home from work before he can touch anything..including me or the kids :)

My house usually smells like clorox or pine sol

Can I just say that I am thrilled to see all of these laundry-challenged people?!!! I thought it was just me being a lazy-ass. I love washing the clothes since we got this awesomely huge front loader....but I just can't bring myself to fold them and put them away. They sit in baskets for days until my housekeepers come. I now PAY them to fold my laundry. And sometimes, after that, I STILL don't put them away. It drives my husband crazy. He has had several "interventions" with me....and I just can't do it. I think I need a 12-step program for laundry.

I would just rather be scrapping/designing than dealing with the laundry!

I am also a piler (hubby's number 1 complaint!)

I LOVE crime shows- especially real ones (documentary style)

I'm addicted to chocolate and refuse to give it up

I don't floss like I should

I spend too much time on the computer, and even when I do, I'm not being "productive"

Ooooh Nikki this is totally me!! Only we never move. So we just have lots of crap in boxes. Forever. lol It's high time we go through our attic and closets and just purge stuff.

Ok, I'll play along.

I pile too and hoard as well.

I have all 10 of Meg Cabot's "Princess Diaries" books.

I still watch Ally Mcbeal reruns (actually I have it on DVD and can watch it over and over and still cry when billy dies)

I tell my husband I'm scrapbooking anytime I'm on the computer when mostly I'm reading the boards or on facebook

I drink 88oz of diet coke almost every day!

I have more craft supplies than I'll ever have time to complete, but I continue to shop and read blogs for inspiration on new things!

- Oh and I DVR Days of our Lives too!

:p these are funny!

I'll admit that......

I'm obsessive. I am with everything in my life.

I worry about what other people think, even if I act like I don't

and I will compete in anything, even if I don't want the prize :p

Hmmmm......let's see. Only 3?

1. I'm a rebel rouser. I love to play devils advocate and love to get people going just for the fun of it!
2. I'm a liberal (I don't want to lose any friends over this though please)
3. I am secretly (ok...not so secretly) enjoying my vampire porn books. I had never read anything like this EVER, and I'm really finding them enjoyable. I was a bit more of a book snob before.

I'm 100% the same on 1 & 3, but I can't agree with you because of 2
:p just kidding seriously though, I always thought vampire books were for the uninspired. ummm

I bet there are some Designers who are thinking you do NOT need an intervention! :) I love buying new digi supplies too!

ummm....let me see.....

I hide food around the house. Sometimes I don't even eat it, I just don't let everyone else eat it.

I am totally addicted to iced tea from McDonald's. If we are out I make up some reason I have to have some right then.

I have only gotten gas like 1 time ever. Even when I wasn't married I would meet someone at the gas station who would pump it for me. :D :D :D Now Garret always does it. Sometimes my parents do. lmbo

I hate talking on the phone.

oooh! Me eeee tooo! I never make calls. I talk to my mom and my sister but that's it. I hate talking on the phone. Garret got tired of it recently and told me I had to order the pizza, so I just ordered it online. :D

1. When I play Sims I get so into it I totally disregard my own needs. "Wow I'm busting to go to the toilet but at least virtual me is doing well in her professions"

omgosh! That soooo cracked me up!!! I love it! :D :D :D

3. If I'm going to make popcorn or something, I wait until the kids are in bed rather than share it.

oooh yes!!!! I will not eat unless my kids are in bed. Even lunches and stuff I feed myself during naptime. I hate sharing my food! LOL

Ive never had a professional manicure or pedicure in my life. I rarely wear nail polish anymore. I just keep my nails really short and unpolished.

I haven't had these either!! I thought I was the only girl that hadn't! Though I do love to paint my nails and toenails in the Summer

LOL! I do this one too! But so does my hubby! I even did it as a kid. If my mom was dating someone and we went over I would always have to immediately "go to the bathroom". I would then just wander their house!

I am uber-conservative...and I like that way :)

DITTO!!!!

The gas thing is hilarious and you know what..my mom is 55 years old and has NEVER pumped gas. Like EVER. My Daddy has always done it for her..she's so hilarious b/c if she has less than 1/2 a tank she makes him go fill it up b/c she's so afraid she'll run out.

If I had to depend on DH to pump my gas I'd never get to go anywhere lol

I could care less what state of disarray my house is in. My mom was a clean freak and drove us nuts with her anal ways-so I made a vow long ago that as long as we are all happy that I could really care less how big of a mess our house is. Drives my mom NUTS-I have to admit that even at 37-I get some weird satisfaction over her disapproval. :)

We have passed on many chances to own a bigger house because I like having us all living on top of each other-thankfully we all feel the same way.

I appear to be way more put together to the outside world than I really am.

I really just have to add one more...
I am a HUGE flirt...like HUGE-my husband says if you leave me alone with a member of the opposite sex for over 5 minutes I can make him do whatever I want...he seems rather proud of this character trait of mine...haha.

LOL! Well, I was talking to Garret's gma and she said she hasn't gotten gas in over 50 years! LOL! Grandpa always does it for her. lol! So I am apparently not alone, which is good to know!

We only have one car, so if Garret is at work I can't go anywhere anyways...lol

My MIL is that way-she has NEVER pumped gas in her life. I find it odd-haha!

More to add:

I can never find my pants. or my wallet. or my keys. We have songs that we sing as we go around the house trying to find where I dropped them.

Whenever DH asks me how much money I spent on something I always round down ...so if I spent 99 dollars I tell him 90 lol..I have no idea why I think that matters but it makes me feel like I didn't spend as much! lol

I once sat on the kitchen table for 2 hours with Avery until DH got home b/c I thought I saw a snake under a newspaper in our living room..turns out it was just a belt! :)

I don't fold laundry or make beds either, lol.

I'm a horrible eavesdropper!! Like baaaaaddd. When we go out to dinner we usually don't converse very much because I'm too busy listening to the conversations going on around me. Sometimes I catch myself wanting to add my own little bit of advice/opinions/thoughts to other people's conversations. :D

My kids make their own breakfast almost daily and unless it's candy or pop/soda.. I rarely object. They often make sandwiches for breakfast, pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles, etc.

I'm a digi scrap hoarder!! I have stuff in my collection from WAY back when Gina Miller was at Scrapbook-Bytes that I just cannot bring myself to delete.

omg...I LOVE this thread

1. I am a cat lover!!! if I could have 20 I would....and I make DD {16} clean the cat boxes as one of her chores because I HATE doing it!!! we currently have 7 cats :)

2. I use fowl language around my kids WAY TOO MUCH...but figure I am a sailor, so I am excused:p

3. I try not to have my kids have sleepovers because I alawys feel like my house is not clean enough and don't want to kids to think it's a pig sty! and really, it isn't that bad we just don't have enough space for 6 people in a 1200 sq foot house! {we live in gov't housing}

I have to add one more.....DH and I are both computer addicted...when we get home, I get on my laptop, he gets on his desk and we ask the kids what movie they want to watch :p {but I do make sure they get feed and baths in between!}

LOL I love these kinds of threads!

Here's mine:
1. I am a compulsive yarn shopper!! If I see a pretty one, I don't care if I already have 100 skeins, I'll buy more.

2. I am an avid rooster collector!! I have about 50 in my collection and still going strong.

3. I am an organization freak!! Everything has to be organized and put into plastic bins! If they aren't, I can't stand it. LOL

:o If you don't want people looking in, then close the drapes!! I do this too... I did have a friend who got more than she bargain for... while on a business trip, she noticed a guy in his birthday suit looking out the window. Luckily, she wasn't driving...

We made it 5 years before I had to fill up the gas tank... and that was only just last Saturday that I had to do it!! Mom and I went outlet shopping... an apparently the trip and back was too much for my car... should have taken hubby's, bigger gas tank. My hubby took great pride in making sure the cars are filled up with gas...

Here is another one of mine... all our vacations (pre-kids) were picked around if there was an Outlet mall with a Coach store... LOL! I was in 7th heaven on our honeymoon... I got to go to two in Napa.

Whenever DH asks me how much money I spent on something I always round down ...so if I spent 99 dollars I tell him 90 lol..I have no idea why I think that matters but it makes me feel like I didn't spend as much! lol

I absolutely do the same thing, lol! Especially if it's something I don't need, I just wanted. Jordan never shops ever, so I always feel like things I want (like clothes) are unnecessary in his mind and thus, rounding down makes me feel better.

I'm also an incredible piler. I am NEVER 100% free of piles. I figure that this is a step up from when I was a kid and my sh*t would be all over the floor. Baby steps. During "The Great Craft Reorganization of 2010" I kept moving piles to different places while I rearranged things, instead of just going through them and putting things away throwing things out. But at least my piles are only in my craft space, lol. Small victories right?

I hate doing laundry, and putting it away. But when it comes out of the dryer I fold it downstairs and then bring the laundry basket up. Then I live out of the clean basket. Jordan HATES IT. I also forget that I put laundry wash until I'm going to bed. And I don't care if the dryer keeps my BIL awake downstairs.

I have more craft stuff than I could ever hope to use (both IRL, and digi). But I HATE getting rid of stuff. I have boxes of things downstairs in the laundry room, just to satisfy Jordan's need for the area to be cleaner (see above - piling). Despite this, anytime I'm in a craft store, I buy more stuff. Even if it's just 1 more thing, it's 1 more thing that I rarely need. And I can ALWAYS justify it.
