what do you use? do you like it?
I'm having a new hair problem.. (there's always something :p ) I have really thick hair, so I'm use to the persistant falling out.. but now it seems all my lil silver hairs are.. snapping.. so my hair is getting thinner-- but not like I'm balding LOL I just now have all these little silver short pieces sticking up everywhere ( i keep telling you people there are a lot LOL) I use pantene for curls shampoo & conditioner ( I don't have curly hair, just wavey and frizzy but this stuff keeps it a lot tamer) AND I use pantene protecting conditioner spray stuff.
so I need to strengthen those ugly hairs but make sure I don't overly weigh down the rest of my hair too.. I don't want to be a slime ball or anything. my hair is pretty dry and damaged- though I haven't dyed it since october & I stopped blow drying and using other torture devices a week or two ago.. so any other suggestions would be welcomed :]
 
I use a hair serum to keep my hair from frizzing to much and have hair similar to your description only difference is instead of grey hair I am getting these random thick coarse black hairs. Its weird cause I am blonde LOL. Anyhow the serum is kinda thick and you only need a tiny little bit. I put it on right before my hair dries and it keeps it soft and manageable for like three days. (I do not wash my hair everyday...more like every three days to keep it from drying and getting icky and breaking etc)
 
i use some sort of serum sometimes. but i have really thin hair so its easy to use too much and then it looks sorty of greasy-eww. right now i just use Dove shampoo and conditioner. my hair is pretty dry and it feels better since i've used this. i never buy the same shampoo; i'm always switching it up. i love the expensive stuff, like Biolage but i hardly ever spend the money on it. i was using a Pantene extra conditioning stuff that came in a little tub. i really liked it, made my hair soft. you leave it in your hair for like 5 minutes then rinse out.
 
I'm not someone who always uses professional products, but I was having some trouble with my hair being damaged/breaking easily/falling out and my hair stylist recommended Paul Mitchell Strength stuff. I LOVE it. I'm using just the shampoo and daily conditioner and it's totally changed my hair in the last 2 weeks. It's so much stronger, softer, easier to syle. It's been really amazing for me. :)

 
I use the Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner. My hair is not normally dry, but since I've been dying it blonde over the past few months, it's taken a beating. I love this stuff.

Pantene Ice Shine hands down. I've tried so many different ones and I keep coming back to this one. :thumbup:
 
I use head & shoulders and its the best thing for my hair :P

LOL I love that i've tried so many things and lately the things that work best (for my skin and hair) are the cheapest options - woot!
 
I use ALBA products. I love them!! There are a little more pricey than suave/pantene/herbal essences, etc., but they have none of the nasty chemicals and are plant based. I love them!! I blow dry my hair everyday now, cuz, if i don't, it looks like crap because of they style I have, and the fact that my hair curls all by itself.

Some times you can find it in Target and Walmart, but I usually get mine at the local health food store. You can also order it from their website, albabotanical.

I'm a self proclaimed hair product junkie. I use a ton of different products for all sorts of different things.
The shampoo & conditioner I use the most is Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. My new love is Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner.
I've used Aussie products before and I like those as well. But the 2 I listed are my 2 favorite lines so far. I love all Herbal Essences products.
The other product I use a lot of is Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7 creme.
It sounds to me like you need a moisturizing shampoo & conditioner and something with strengthening. And possibly a serum of sorts.
 
I adore my Giovanni Smooth as Silk conditioner. It's in the organic aisle at Target and is meant for very dry or damaged hair. Mine isn't damaged, but it's curly and gets very dry.



Whatever you choose, you may want to try leaving it on longer. I've switched to washing my hair as soon as I get in the shower, then leaving the conditioner on and rinsing it out just before I get out. Having it on for 3-5 minutes has made a big difference. I also rinse it out with cool water. That closes the hair cuticle and keeps the moisture in. Good luck!

I switch between this and the BODY one (with the purple on it). I love PM products... soooo worth it!

I love redken too! I used Redken extreme though, I have really fine hair that is always dry and rubbish. Don't use it anymore - I stopped buying pricey stuff when I had kids (although I do treat myself once in a while). Now I just use Elvive or Scwartskof (spelling?) Gliss. Cheap and cheerful:)
 
Pantene does just what those commercials says it will do, coat the hair. When I was in hair school they told us pantene was the worse over the counter hair products you can buy. I love the bed head lines. I use dumb blond because I foil with 2-3 colors and straiten like 2 or 3 times a week.
 
I don't know if you can get the original scents anymore, but my absolutely FAV is ABBA! They changed scents a while back and then everything was smelling like my spice cupboard (oregano). But I know it wasn't selling well, so they were going to switch it back (minty).

You can buy it at salons. I would swear by their conditioners.

I'm a Pantene/Head & Shoulders girl. Sometimes I like Dove too. But I've heard about lots of those "store brands" that actually strip your hair and make it more suseptible to breakage, frizzing, etc.
