Computer Issues

We had some files go corrupt on our operating system, I am without a computer right now :(!
We took our computer to our local tech guy and he is coping over the hard drive tonight and should have it done by tomorrow, at which time we have to reinsall windows to factory defaults...makes me sad-but at least he is getting everythign off!
I'll bbs, I miss scrapping and I miss my online friends...See ya all tomorrow!

That sucks girly! I was wondering where you were! I am glad he is able to copy everything over! Hope you get it back up and running quickly!!!
 
The tech guy said tomorrow by 10 and then the task of reinstalling and then taking the hard drive back to him to put everything back on it...Uggg...Hopefully by tomorrow evening-my hubby was up ALL night and most of today talking with Dell...Until I finally took the phone-demanded a supervisor and somone who spoke English as a first language-half of our problems were caused by DELL and their stupid tech support. So they are footing the bill for this local tech guy after I acted like a total moron...at least I got somewhere, my hubby is too nice.

Sorry you're having probs Shan! I hope they get it fixed right away. DELL SUCKS!!! But the important question is are you going to be at the chat on Friday night? :)
 
I'm at my ownnn computer!
We reinstalled Widows and everything looks to be fine...Now I'm off to take my hard drive back to the local tech guy to load back up with all our files!
Only $50 to take it all off and put it back on-I was hoping it would be more since Dell agreed, after much rudeness on my part, to foot the cost.

Dell sucks. Their customer service, and I use the term loosely, is what pushed us over the edge in making the switch to Mac. Glad they at least covered the repair costs for you. Much further than we ever got with them and, trust me, it was not because we were too nice, lol.
 
Sheesh, what a pita, Shannon :blink: . I've only had to deal with Dell once so far (knock on wood). But because of where I bought it from and the fact that it's an XPS, there are special numbers that "should" get me top notch service from them. If I don't, i'll just have to call you and let you give em what for for me,lol.
Glad you got it pretty well fixed at least, you've been missed.
