Does anyone know why these aren't in alphabetical order or how to get them in alphabetical order? This just started happening this week and it's driving me batty. I'm downloading things now and I don't know where they are because they aren't showing up in alphabetical but random. It makes no sense to me.

I've looked at Google. I can't seem to find my answer. So I was hoping maybe someone here knew, before I called my father and got a lecture about not knowing how to do something on my computer :D

It's a PC - Windows 10

Is it a MAC? If so I'm not help. If PC, right click and sort by name.

If it's any consolation, my MAC has been doing the same thing for the past few weeks... No idea why or how to fix it, just commiseration. In terms of figuring out what came where, try ordering it by date modified, it should at least get things sorted, even if it's not alphabetical

Thank goodness for Google.
I found "sort" and got them in alphabetical order.
But now they are showing them in alphabetical, in groups, but not in order. If that makes sense?

I can play around with the settings, get them a-z in three groups. But the moment I close it out and reopen it, it's however it wants to display.
I might have to call my father tomorrow :(

Hmmm just right click somewhere in the folder, not on a folder just blank space.

Then go to sort by>name. Not sure how it's doing it in folders though, I can't even see an option to do that?

Perhaps you hit group by? Maybe see if you can fix it by right click>group by>(none)

When I did none it went to a mess like the original photo that I showed. I’m sure there has to be a setting somewhere in there. I just don’t know where. I know this happened right after my last windows update because I’ve been grumping about it since then. I was able to deal with it because I wasn’t downloading heaps. But tonight, there are heaps in there now and I was struggling to find all the zip files.

I’m throwing in the towel for the night. I’ll Look at it tomorrow with fresh eyes. I have to be missing something.

Yeah do the group's> (none). Then do the first step, sort by>name

I have the same problem occasionally, but usually if I close the download folder/window and reopen it they alphabetize themselves. Windows 10 drives me nuts sometimes.
