Cherry Merry Muffin!!!!

Ok, tell me I'm not crazy- cuz, well, I know I'm not! :p

In high school art class, we were told to bring in a retro toy we still had from childhood- well, I really wanted to bring in a Cherry Merry Muffin toy (Chocolottie in particular though I couldn't remember her name, just that she smelled like Chocolate) and this sink & spoon set that had faces on them. I couldn't find them in my parents basement so I settled on a couple vintage My Little Ponies that I still had from my childhood. (LOvE thOsE ToO!)

That day I was doing my pastel drawing (our assignment) and I mentioned to a few people in the class how I wanted to bring in the Cherry Merry Muffin toys and I started singing the song, "she cooks sweet, she looks sweet, and smells sweet too..." no one knew what the heck I was talking about!

A few minutes later I got up to get a drink and saw on the table of a snobby girl I never talked to, the spoon from Cherry Merry Muffin!!!! OMG! So I announced it to everyone that I wasn't crazy!!!!

For some reason today I decided to look them up online, after years of not thinking about them, and I found them!!!! Here's the sink & spoon set:

and the dolls:

and to prove further I'm not totally nut-so, here's the song (scroll down a little bit)

Does anyone else remember these things?! What are your favorite retro toys from your childhood?

I also love the Pound Puppies, My Little Pony, Popples, the Strawberry Shortcake dolls, the Care Bears.... I still have a bunch of them from when I was little!

I'm (almost) 31 and I had all of those toys when I was little too but I don't remember those Cherry Merry Muffin dolls at all!

They kinda look like ripoffs of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I honestly dont remember them. I did a layout of some toys I had when I was little that I loved. I think they were called Dolly Pops?? Ill see if I can find it.

Found it...here it is:

I had to google cause I'd never heard of them either... says they were only made from 88-90. I didn't play with dolls too much so I must have missed them (that was like 1st grade-ish time for me). I'd guess they weren't too popular ^_^

I was 4 in 1988 so I guess I was still into dolls then- I'm surprised I remember them from that long ago, I can barely remember yesterday! lol!

I loved Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Ponies, and Care Bears.

Yes, I remember Shirt Tales!

I don't remember Cherry Merry either. I had the Strawberry Shortcake dolls.....

I remember those dolls. My sister and I had like 4 of them. The blueberry, the cherry, the chocolate and the lemon. I haven't found anyone else who's ever heard of them though. I mentioned how I loved their smell, because the dolls smell, the muffins smell, everything smells and they just looked at me like I was crazy and asked if I was talking about Strawberry Shortcake, which I also had a lot of. I was 7 when those dolls came out, but my sister was 5 and I played with them with her.

Never heard of Cherry Merry Muffin either. I loved Rainbow Bright, Strawberry Shortcake, Cabbage Patch Dolls, My Little Pony, Care Bears and Barbies.

I totally remember Cherry Merry Muffin! My sister had the doll and I'm pretty sure she was even her for Halloween one year! If I think about it I can even remember what the smell was like. LOL!

I don't remember Cherry Merry Muffin, but it looks cute! I loved Monchichis - my mom used to sing the song to be all the time. I loved Rainbow Brite:

and Hugga Bunch. I was so sad they got thrown away :(

OH m'gosh! I was just thinking of these cute lil' critters the other day! We had one that stuck his thumb into his belly button! Soooo cute!

They had that challenge last year in June I think? It was pretty fun. You could probably see some of the layouts if you look in June under SWTSB gallery

I saw "my favorite place" but didn't see the favorite toy. Is there any easier way to search? I just went back until I got to layouts posted in June. I'd like to see those layouts.

I loooooved my pogo ball!!!!!

And like so many others my age (I'm 31), I had Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, and Care Bears. LOL! (but no Cherry Merry Muffin... I think that must've been after my doll-playing prime. ;) )

I was in college when Cherry Merry Muffin was out, so unless it was the name of a drink I wouldn't have heard of it :)

The dolls I remember were Malibu Barbie, Growing Up Skipper, Baby Alive and Rub a Dub dolly.

And Weebles. The wobble but they don't fall down. :)

I don't remember the Cherry Merry Muffin dolls but I loved playing with My little ponies, barbies, strawberry shortcake, rainbow brite. I loved the monchichi's too. I didn't have the hugga bunch dolls but I remember the movie with them in it that I used to watch all the time!

My sister and I had some Rainbow Brite toys and Cabbage Patch dolls too! My gramma had the Cabbage Patch Kids board game- we loved that thing!

What about these Pillow People?! Lol!

I never owned this toy but my younger cousin did. I was at her house almost everyday because her mom babysat me for a while and she loved it!

Does anyone remember Wrinkles or Pound Puppies? LOL! I loved those, but didn't have any...

I remember pound puppies...I think my brother and sister had them.

Ya know...reading this thread...I didn't realize how spoiled my baby sister was until just now! cabbage patch dolls, strawberry shortcake, raggedy ann (oh jeesh a ton of RA stuff), and most of the toys you mentioned! jeesh

Y'know...I never ever played with dolls, and being that I only had boys, I didn't even look at toys like this when my boys were young....so....

sorry...never heard of them!!

OMG! I still have my grey Pound Puppy with the black ears and the heart on his butt cheek! :p I passed it down to my son because he absolutely loves it, but I recently put it into storage because my son was abusing it! When he's older and knows to treat it better, he can have it back- until then, no way!
