lol, so you know most kids have that slight AAH moment when they realize meat = animals (well at least I am assuming so)... Not connor, we discuss that regularly.. no.. he just had his AAAH moment while eating salad..

Ce: Mom.... this.. it looks like a leaf.
Me: Connor it IS a leaf.
Ce: What............. !!!?
Me: Yes connor, it's a leaf, it comes from a plant.
Ce: You are making me eat leaves!!!!??! I don't want to eat plants! they grow in the dirt!!

LMAO now that is FUNNY!!! My neice she calls salad (like lettuce based salads) rabbit food. She tells me when I try to give her a salad that she is not a rabbit.

OK my son and daughter will not eat fish. So I reminded them that A.tuna is fish and B.popcorn shrimp are kinda like fish. They are seafood anyhow right? Soooo my son who was like 13 at the time insisted tuna is NOT fish. he said fish does not come in cans. Tuna comes in a can therefore tuna is not fish. My daughter acted all shocked when she is eating her popcorn shrimp that it is actually shrimp and NOT made from popcorn. Ummm yea my kids have some unique ideas concerning food LOL

We had a similar (but reverse) moment today. I was reading one of those kid books with the huge pictures of the different animals, and we got to turkey. Katie, who's three, says, "Hey! I've had one of those! They're YUMMY!!!" No problem with animal concept whatsoever. I love my little carnivore!

I love that! I hope it's going to find its way onto a scrapbook page soon. My 5 year old DS knows I don't eat meat because of the killing animals thing, but he assures me that he has a way to get the meat that doesn't hurt the animal and lets them run and play afterward.
