tell my sweet darling little girl that it is NOT acceptable to be up at 445am EVERYDAY??? It's one thing to wake up for a quick feeding and fall back asleep, but she wants to be up for a couple hours...I even kept her up a bit last night hoping she'd sleep in a bit haha..no such luck

I'm so sleepy....today is an office day fo rme though so to work I must go in a few...see y'all this afternoon

Well I've got a 5yr old, almost 3yr old and an 18mth old and they are ALWAYS up at 5am. This week the 18mth old has been waking at 4am but I put him back in bed and he goes back to sleep till 5am. If they wake at 5.30am we call that a sleep in LOL! They have always been like this and still get up at that time even if they go to bed very late. Their normal bed time is 7.30-8.30pm. They also adjust to daylight savings time so their body clocks definately go with the moon/sun cycles.

I'm used to it now and would have my routing really put out if I had to wake kids up.

Yuck! I can't stand it when they do that! Especially in the winter, when you're getting up and it's still dark outside. I hope she sleeps for you soon!

I couldn't handle that...I keep my 22 month DD up until 9:30 at night, and she now sleeps until 8AM. Good luck with you day, hope you can get her to sleep in for you soon!

We have early risers here too -- it's been 5-5:30 for the last seven years. I'm actually used to it now!

Meg that is just crummy. My daughter was the same way when she was a baby. The kid never slept- drove me insane. Hope you'll get some zzzz's and the new princess will sleep soon!

I remember those days! We are pretty much on a little bit of a schedule now. My DS wakes up anywhere between 6:30 am and 7:30 am and my DD wakes up anywhere between 8 am and 9 am. I normally put them to bed between 8:30 and 9. I, on the other hand, stay up too late and am so tired in the morning!

Miss T doesn't NEED beauty sleep. She's naturally gorgeous, just like her mama.

Meg is so going to kick my ass. LOL

ANY sleep is beauty sleep as far as I'm concerned.

Which is why I look like butt today. I didn't get hardly any last night :p

ETA:Yea, she probably will. She's at work though, so you're safe for a few hours.

put teaghan on the phone..."ahem...little darling girl, 4:45 is an unacceptable hour. is there something we need to discuss? why are you having insomnia?...ohhh....you just miss mommy? ok, well, honey. mommy loves you and i'm sure at night when she is sound asleep she misses you too...so much in fact she wants to test her strengh in missing you say till...6:30 or 7:00 am...ok, alright. i'll let her know. bye sugar."

meg...we really had a nice talk and it's all arranged.

haha thanks Lizzy! lol

On an office day I don't mind as much b/c I get up at 5-515 anyways to get ready before I have to get my kids up..but on a work from home day I like to sleep til at least 6 haha...I suppose I can't complain b/c she's gone from sleeping at 8-830 waking up at 1-130 and waking up again at 530-6 to just sleeping at 8-830 and waking up at 430-445 lol

i couldn't do it. these days i am up no earlier then 7...bliss i tell you. the only time i see 4am is when i pull a cleaning all nighter. lol!!!

I feel your pain. My kids tag team me. Mya gets up at 4:30 and wants to be up for a couple of hours. I feed her, play with her and by 6:30 she wants to go back to sleep. Now this would be a perfectly acceptable schedule for me so long as I could go back to sleep too. Problem is my 3 yo gets up between 6:00 and 6:30.

How old is she?? How many naps does she take during the day? When Kylie started waking up that early I finally realized it was time to cut out one of her naps and the early waking finally stopped.

she was 9 weeks on monday...she's up a good bit during the day. Not one of my kiddos have been the same hehe...I'm going to move her to her crib tonite I think and see if maybe that will make a difference. She's still in a sleeper in my room. She's a LIGHT sleeper I've noticed. Here's to hoping!

Misty, would some quiet time work for Jamin?
My sister was the same way, and for my mom's sanity (sis is the middle and younger bro is only 16 months younger) she instituted quiet time. Caitlin could get up anytime she wanted, but she had to stay in her room (our room at the time) and read or play quietly by herself until the rest of the world woke up. It took a little convincing, but eventually she got used to it and would "read" and play with her dolls or something, lol.

It would except that dh leaves for work at 6:30. There have been a couple of days that Jamin has slept past Barron leaving for work and he gets so upset that he didn't get to give daddy a hug and kiss goodbye. Their little morning goodbye ritual is so adorable, I don't think I really want to try to put an end to it. I'm working on stretching Mya's wake-up time out a bit. If I could just get her to 5:30 I'd be happy.

Awwww, that's so cute! I can't blame you for not wanting to mess that up. Hopefully Maya will start cooperating soon :)

I think Kylie went through a period of time when she woke up really early and didn't want to go back to sleep right away, but she was a little older than nine weeks. If you feed her during this time, you may want to keep things dark and quiet, maybe she will go back to sleep for you once she is done eating. Of course, she may just be coming more aware of her surroundings and just want to play, :) I hope for your sake, you can figure something out, or that it is just a stage she is going through, :)

My son thinks it is time to wake up when he hears the birds chirping, of course they start chirping when it starts to get light out.....at 3:30 am!! Luckly most times he can be convinced to go back to sleep, but is usually up between 6-7.
