Can dogs pass around stomach viruses?

This may be a silly question...at about 3:30am this morning, I heard one of our dogs, Jack, about to get sick. I ran him outside in time - hooray!! That's the only time he was sick - he's been great all day today and just ate dinner - no problems. I just figured he may have gotten into something. But now, my littlest one, Molly, wouldn't eat dinner and her little tummy is just making all sorts of noises, like every 30 seconds. She doesn't act like she feels bad (yet), but holy cow - the sounds coming out of that little 6lb thing are creeping me out!

Do dogs pass stuff like that to each other?

Well, anything's possible. Maybe she found whatever it was jack possibly could've gotten into as well.

I don't think dogs can normally pass viruses to humans and vice versa. But they can get the same illness from things like mosquitos.
If your doggy is puking and acting like he's not feeling good, I urge you to at least call his vet.
Our cat was puking last night and we thought she'd bounce back because she did the same thing last week and was fine the next morning. I woke up and found her not alive this morning. :(

Dogs can pass them to other dogs, yes...a friend had to take her 2 dogs in to get checked because they were around another 2 dogs which both died from a virus or something. It seems her dogs are alright, but they were worried for a while there! (One of the dogs that died was pregnant with pups from one of my friends' dogs)

My dogs throw up alot and it does not mean then have a virus or are spreading something around. If your dog threw up once and is fine now, then you have nothing to worry about. Sometimes they get in to things that don't agree with them and they get rid of it the same way we would. It is possible that both of your dogs got in to the same thing. My little jack russell also gets gas really bad and her belly makes some crazy noises too.

YOu can tell if your dogs need to see a vet, if they keep vomiting and start acting lethargic, then yes, take them to the vet.

Dogs can spread viruses, but most of the viruses that are spread between dogs they have vaccines for, so if you take your dogs to the vet regularly, they should be fine.

oh mandy :( :( :(

but yes.. dogs can pass the sickies btwn themselves, or like brooke said they may have just gotten into the same thing

Oh Mandy - I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. We just had our 18 year old cat put to sleep 2 weeks ago - he was just so old and had really started to go downhill.

Little Molly hasn't puked yet. Her tummy's just rumbling like crazy. She normally doesn't get into stuff but Jack certainly does. They are always up to date on shots and I would certainly take them into the vet if something was going on for more than a day or so. She's doesn't seem to be lethargic but I'll just watch her real closely tonight and hopefully by tomorrow she'll be ok.
