Camera/Photography Gurus - Help please!

So, I've had my Canon 10D Digital SLR since they first came out (going on 11 years now), and it's just about to bite the dust. The shutter is dying, and it only opens about 75% of the time.

I take most of my pics with my phone these days, but I'd LOVE to have a nice camera again. Chloe is too cute to only be captured with cell phone pics. ;)

I'm SO stumped on what is even available these days. My poor camera is like a dinosaur in comparison to most of the things on the market today, and it's a little overwhelming.

If I stick with a Canon digital SLR, will I still be able to use my lenses from my 10D? Or have lenses changed in the last 10 years to the point where these wouldn't fit? Or would a new camera/lens kit surpass what I have anyway in terms of quality?

Where would you recommend shopping?

I have a Fujifilm S-X1 and I love it. When it was time for me to move up from a point and shoot camera, this is what I chose. At the moment I largely use it in auto mode, but it has every manual mode you'd ever want as well. One of the things that really sold me on it was the fact that it has 3 stabilized lenses in it, so 1) I don't have to change lenses, and 2) I don't need a tripod for blur-free shots. I really love it. It captures light well and I can even take HD movies on it too. For a non-professional mamarazzi I feel like my shots with this are not too bad.

Libby - your lenses should still work. I bought the Canon T4i last spring to replace my dinosaur Canon Rebel DSLR and all my lenses work fine on it. I got an amazing package deal on Amazon.
 
It depends on what type of Canon lenses you have. If they're EF lenses, they'll work on any Canon DSLR. If they're EF-S lenses, they'll only work on Canon crop body cameras like the 70D, not the full frame cameras like a 6D or 5D. So it kind of depends on how much of a camera upgrade you want and how much you want to spend.
 
I had the first Canon Rebel Digital SLR from 11 years ago, and I have been able to use my lenses from it on my 50d. If you are trying not to spend too much money, you can find the T3i for less than $500. A friend of mine is a pretty serious and amazing photographer and she loves hers. They now have a T4i and T5i, that may have better specs.

I don't have a specific price point cause I don't even know what the going rate IS these days. I don't care about having the newest with the best specs cause anything I get will be better than what I have. I just want to get the best deal possible. $300-400 would be ideal, I suppose.
 
For that price range, I would find a new Rebel T3i or a used 60d. Adorama, KEH.com and B&H photo are great places to find excellent used cameras. The 60d has less megapixels but it is a better camera than the Rebel. Both cameras can take EF and EF-S lens.
 
I would buy a Rebel body and use your old lenses if they will work with it. When I bought my Rebel a couple body a couple years ago, I kept watching Amazon and the price went down $100 so I snagged it.
 
You can't go wrong with a Rebel...Or have you looked at the Canon G Series? I think the latest edition is a G15?
