I want to get somethign like this to do potraits and just have good central lighting in my garage {if I ever get it cleaned out}, but not even sure where to look or what to look for? something not too pricey, but decent...any ideas? I am looking at Ritz Camera right now {since the new camera I want to buy is there too :)}

I don't have anything like that. I'm a natural light fanatic, and only use my external flash when absolutely necessary.

If you want lights I would recommend alien bees.. not that I have any but a few years ago when I was thinking about getting into photography its what I was going to get. They are recommended more than any others in the photography forums. You could probably get away easy with just one light and a reflector unless you are wanting to do big group shots. They are really good priced too.

This was going to by my suggestion as well. I don't have them but when I decide that I am ready or that I want lighting I would go with the Alien Bees. :) I have heard alot of great things about them and like Kristin said they are a great price. :thumbup:
