Camera Bags...

Ok girls..i'm on a hunt!!

I want a good camera bag..preferably in fabric (OK I want Carnival Bloom from Michael Miller)

Before you all link me to the Tracy Joy bags..I already know about those and wanted it..but the more I was looking, the less I liked it..I still like it, I just don't LOVE it..kwim? I'd love to stay in the price range...so probably no more than $100. Link me up to some!!
 
I'm not much help sorry...my firrst thought was Tracy Joy LOL I have also started to look around for a new camera bag myself. So I will be keeping an eye out on this thread. I really like the fabric bags. I haven't heard of Michael Miller so I will have to see if I can check those out. :)

hah I was looking at her on Etsy last night! Not sure I love her camera bags though..i'm sooooooo darn picky
 
I don't know what TO get but I will pipe in on what NOT to get. I won a Donna Downey bag from Shabby Princess a while back and while it is pretty, it is not functional at all and it's a royal pain in the rear. I am so glad that I didn't actually shell out the $100 for this bag, so just a little beware on that one. I'll be watching this thread with interest to see what other choices are there because I think i want something different too.
 
WOW! I'm so glad you posted that Amy cause the Donna bag was my other consideration.

I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get me a Tracy Joy bag.
 
Can someone link up a Tracy Joy bag? My DH needs to get me something for Christmas...

I bought a laptop/diaper bag from her and I LOVE it!! I actually have only carried my laptop in it once...it's now my purse :wub:

I personally like Tamarac. Not very "stylish", but love the camera room and you can stick a laptop in then as well.
 
One thing I've heard from Tracy Joy is that her bags aren't to be considered real protection for the camera, which worried me enough that I didn't buy it. (just read her descriptions, she doesn't hide that). I ended up getting a Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Bag. It's pretty okay. I wish it was as cute as a Tracy Joy, but at least my camera is very secure and it's a step up from a basic black camera bag.
 
I have one of the original Tracy Joy "Kimberly" bags and while I loved it at first, I'm not so much in love with the print I got anymore and I don't like that it's not supposed to be washed. Hello with 3 kids things like this need to be able to be washed in the washing machine! One of my girls spilled Dr. Pepper on it, it's got a small mark of orange crayon on it and it's just gotten kind of dingy from being used for over a year now. I'm tempted to wash it anyway & just see what happens.

I'd love to get one of her new Reese bags with the clear front & changeable inserts but she just majorly raised her prices on her all her bags!! The Reese was around $80 before and now they're $118, the smaller Joey style was around $50 and is now $72! That is a huge price increase to me!
 
I bet it would be fine if you washed it on gentle and then dried it on low/fluff or air dried it.

I have the Kristine and I love mine. I like that it's velcro, so when I want something different (which I know I will) I can just order a new flap instead of buying a whole new bag. I find the amount of padding in it to be sufficient. I'm not tossing the bag around, but it's taken a few drunken bumps into walls just fine :p

But, as I post all too often, I have no kids so take my opinion with a grain of salt, lol.
 
I didn tknow she has the Reese before? I was under the assumption it was brand new.

I have the same bag as Julie, a Crumpler 5 Million. I really like it and it's survived quite a bit of traveling in the 2 years I've had it and held up fine. I definitely like all the padding it has because I don't have to be overly concerned if I'm walking around some place crowded and it gets bumped around. There are times when I'm dressed up for something that I'd like to have a bag that looked more dressy but I've yet to find anything I really like that would fit that purpose and still protect the camera.
