annnnnd... are there any other totally must have "go with" items that you'd recommend to add to the starter kit??!!

just curiously speaking, of course.

I got this bundle for my birthday! It doesn't include the designer edition, like the other bundle did that was offered in Silhouette's Black Friday sale - but it's got everything you need to start (and the designer edition goes on sale sometimes). I am almost ready to retire my first mat and I've had it since May! (of course, I don't use it SUPER often...yet!)

so is the designer edition just addition software?

and do you need stuff like the Spatula & the Hook??

I might be more sane with the extras (though I just use a scraper thing from my kitchen as a "spatula") - the hook might be nice, but I don't have it so I can't speak to how often it would be used.

The Designer Edition I don't know a lot about either - I know it allows you to use SVG files and create your own cut files. It's additional software, but I don't completely understand fully it's purpose which is why I haven't gotten it yet! :)

I'm incredibly helpful, huh? ;)

I highly recommend the Spatula and scraper. They work great for lifting delicate pieces from the mat and for clearing the mat quickly. But they aren't NEEDS, but just good things. This is the best bundle I have seen other than the Sil black friday bundle.

oh yeah. i need this like a hole in the head... BUT in the end i finally caved. we'll be newbs together, Sheri!! woot!

thanks for all the enabling, Ladies :D

I just opened up my Cameo tonight! (well unwrapped it - we did Christmas early since we are traveling). So another to add to the newbie group <3

Re: Designer Edition software, I have it and the main things are opening SVG files, creating your own sketch designs, and making rhinestone templates. After I bought it I read this and now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have gotten MTC instead. :/ But in any case I'm glad I have it because I am big into sketches. I think it really depends what you want to do. If you aren't going to do a lot of sketch or rhinestone stuff, it may not be worth it to you.

the designer edition lets you use digital papers in your stash as pattern fill... Pattern fill and opening SVG files make it totally worth it as hybrid scrappers

It is definitely on my wants list. I have a cricut, but since my computer crashed I no longer have Sure Cuts a Lot that even makes the Cricut worth it! :( Hopefully someday soon!

I broke down and bought the designer software, lol. I got it on Overstock for $35 (free shipping, no tax). I saw a couple sites where it was cheaper, but I wasn't familiar with the stores and just didn't want the hassle. I feel like I can do a lot "manually" ... but I'm over the hassle of it!
