I'm at work and I need to take a break and get this out of my chest before I go gaga.

Okay as some of you may know, I've been working like a dog this past month at my new job as we have a deadline to meet to file my company's income tax return. Anyway, I've been behind schedule and been working hard to catch up. Well yesterday was kinda like the light at the end of the tunnel. So that was great.

I approached my manager for three questions. Three. What I get in return is another pile on my desk to prepare a foreign partnership tax return. Okay, so cool. I'm sweatin' a little bit because of time, but okay. Then today I review the files from last year to see what I'm up against. Half of the files are in Chinese, ladies and gentlemen. WTH???? :cursing: I don't speak, read or understand a lick of Chinese. I can see I'll have a lot of conversation with my manager and myself!!!!

I shouldn't complain. I should be happy I have a job.

LOL sorry I had to laugh - but why on earth would your manager give you work in chinese if you don't even speak/read/write any of it?????

Funny you should ask. She didn't even remember any of the files being in Chinese. And she did it last year. LOL!!! Bad sign, isn't it?

April, the thought of you laughing out loud is making me tear up in hysteria. Thanks for the lift, whether you realized that or not. LOL!!!!!

I had a case in which my client was suing the Iraqi government back in the days of Saddam Hussein. Everything had to go through translators and getting someone to serve the complaint was . . . um . . . interesting. Good luck with Chinese!
