Budget?

My husband and I are a little worry because his company is downsizing operations and he might be uneployed soon.

He will be retired in a few months and I have a good job, but we decided to cut our expenses until we are on safer ground.

Since I´m a BIG SSD shopper I decided to keep my digital shopping on a budget... after all I do shop more than I scrap...

Sooo... what IS a budget for you? One kit each week? Waiting for the sales? Please give me some advice...

I'm always on a tight budget (single parent to a teen) and it really depends. I generally budget $10 a week but some weeks there's nothing I want to buy (which happens more and more the longer I scrap since I have sooo much already!). With $10 a week I'm able to get enough for the FWP if I want. If I get my Bingo Blackout then I will save up my budget and shop all at once with the 40% off.

Bingo! If you participate in the bingo challenges every month you can earn up to a 40% discount, plus a chance to win a kit depending on how many squares you complete. One person wins a $50 gift certificate to the store too! :)

CTing has been a great way for me to save on the budget too but still get some gorgeous supplies! I usually only spend a little each week - enough to get the fwp-- and I save up my wishlist for big sales like DSD. I tend to use any gift money I receive for birthday or Christmas, on scrapping supplies too! It's definitely an addiction for me! Lol!

I wait until I have my 30% or 40% coupon and shop once a month, almost never more than $30. I keep it in check by only using prepaid Visa cards.

I normally spend about $20 a week. But I only use my paypal, which has a set amount in it, so I can't go over budget. Some weeks I don't buy anything and others way more. But it averages to about $20/week.

I generally only shop when I have my Bingo coupon now (40% most months) or during a big sale when things are at least 30% off. So I may only shop once a month and I'll spend enough (i.e. at least $10) to get a FWP kit. I don't have a budget per se - the money is mine and I can buy what I like, but the saver in me doesn't usually let me spend more than $US 20 - $30 a month. Its the exchange rate that has really killed my spending in the past few months though.

I usually wait for sales. I also have so many kits and not enough scrapping done with them.

I try to challenge myself to use something I already own. I also try to look at what I already have and try to purchase to really "fill in the gaps" of my collection. I really study the new kits that come out and figure out why I want something and then see if I don't already own something similar. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't.

After saying all that, just know that my wish list is bordering on crazy.

I try to stay on a budget of no more than $30. a month. The store collabs get me every time!!! I have to spend the money for those! ;)

I am with Nikki, it's the store collabs that get me every time.
I don't shop each week, but I put them in the wish list... let's just say it's crazy!
That is why I do bingo each month, to get the 40% off.
I love my CT duties too, I create for wonderful designers and I am grateful they take me in. :)

I used to spend $20-30 a month, too. But my scrapping time has been limited since about August, and I don't like to do more shopping than scrapping. I budget with prepaid gift cards. That way I can "save" some of my scrapping money to put toward bigger spending during sales and DH doesn't know the difference. ;)

I buy once or twice a month. Apparently I'm in the minority about store collabs, LOL. I find them easy to resist since they swallow up too much of my budget. I have to be head over heels for a collab in order to decide it's worth spending my entire month's scrap budget in 1 shot. It never fails that the week after I do that there's a new release I want to buy right away.

I shop once a month when I can use the 40% off from the Bingo. I spend no more than $50-$60 a month because that's about 10% of my family income -- you know, exchange rates are crazy and paychecks are small.
While I always like something from each week's releases, I just can't afford it and usually put it on my wish list.

When my job was downsized this year I had to cut down expenses. Now I wait for coupons and sales.

I think it's around $20-$30 a month for me. I am very fortunate to be in awesome CTs so I safe a lot of money that way. With DSD/NSD my budget can easily triple ;) Yickes.....I just love a good deal and I do tend to buy my wish list during those days :)

I'm very much the same. My 'budget' is usually $40 a month if that but it includes CC subscription and one other scrappy subscription so in reality I probably only have $20-25 a month to spend freely.

I'm like Biancka and Kim.
My shopping budget is 30 - 40 $ a month. I put the things I like and want in my wishlist and I shop when I get my 40% discount coupon from the Bingo challenges. Occasionally I shop for new releases, but that's rare.
I'm fortunate to be in some awesome CT's too, so that helps a lot too.

I've had different budgets at different times. It was $20 a month at one time. Sigh. Thankfully it's higher now. Sales are awesome and bargain bites, and coupons!
Your budget has to be what YOU can afford.
Budgets are not fun. ;(

Until I needed to start buying baby things I used to spend $10 a week or so and $30 ish in the sales. I've been restricted the past few months as I needed to buy car seat, pushchair and lots of baby clothes. I can't wait to do a bingo card to get a discount next month because my poor wishlist is bulging :D
