So, let's talk... did you hate it? Did you love it? What did you think? I just finished and am exhausted, so I'm going to share in the morning when I can be even slightly coherent... but go for it... tell me how you feel about.

I LOVED it...I just loved how she ended everything...how Bella ended with EVERYTHING she wanted, and Jake got his girl he couldn't live without. And I love the unexpected the surprise!

I loved it too. I like happy endings. I was a tad disappointed about the ending with the Volturi, I wish she had taken them all out, but I looooved it overall.

I HATED it... it was like bad fan fiction. I hated how Bella got everything she wanted, there was no price, no sacrifice to get her love. It was very frustrating. I hated the baby's name. For something to feel monumentous, it has to have a price, and there was none, so it was very anticlimactic.

Let's pretend it was a trilogy.

Well..I wasn't a big fan of the entire series..but I barely got through the book...I mean there were times when i just about put it down and leave it.

Good grief at the buildup and buildup to this great big climactic ending and what happened? Not a dang thing!

I wont' go into all the things I hated about it b/c I know there are some serious fans here lol...I just didn't care for it at all...I think I'm done with stephanie myers.

I loved it...but like Traci said, I like happy endings! LOL!

ETA: I know there are those who didn't like it, and that's fine with me, everyone is entitled to their opinion!

I loved it too! I'm a happy ending person, so it left me completely fulfilled. I was also so relieved they didn't fight the Volturi because I just didn't want anyone to die. LOL

I just finished it today so this is good timing!

I'm a happy ending kinda girl so I enjoyed the end as well. I thought it was really good and had a hard time putting it down (although I wanted it to last!). I honestly wasn't surprised by the imprinting story line - I saw that one coming, but I liked how it resolved the Jacob/Edward issue.

I love that she left it open to more books.

I read all 4 books in a row since Aug. 2. I keep saying I just *liked* it as a whole. It was very easy reading and I'm glad I read it. However, I'm a big Harry Potter fan and this was no where close to that kind of story, at least IMO.

I liked the happy ending. HATED the baby's stupid name. And in general, I got tired of having to read over and over and over and over again how Bella couldn't live without Edward, etc., how every one of his expressions was analyzed by her, how every time they touched we had to read he was hard as stone, cold, icy, whatever. To me, that was rather poor writing, not letting the reader be educated the first couple of times it was written, but having to reiterate it in case the reader didn't understand. That bugged me.

But over all...a good summertime read.

i loved it! I as SO happy no one had to die. I did however hate the baby's name. I wish it had been a boy so she would have called him E.J. (Edward jacob). I was surprised at Jacob's imprinting. I expected him to eventually imprint, but didn't expect it to be Bella and Edward's child, lol. I kinda wish the Volturi had been destroyed, though. Bella was pissed; I bet she could have done some damage single handedly, lol. Overall, I loved all the books (but these type of books are my regular reading) I actually cried a little (yes, i'm a geek and a crybaby) when i finished it because A. I was happy no one died and it was a happy ending and B. I was so sad to end it! I'm dying to see the Twilight movie and hope they make movies out of all of them and that she writes more books!

My mom's been reading them too. She came over Thursday and got Breaking Dawn from me. She loves them too. But then again she's a huge Stephen King fan so there was no surprise she liked them either. We have our own sort of book club going between the two of us. she gives me her books, usually Stephen Kings, to read and I share my books. I hope to get her to go see the Twilight movie with me!

Overall I liked it, but like Brynn said, it felt wrong that there was no sacrifice whatsoever... though I can't even begin to choose who I could have accepted losing. lol After Nessie was born and Bella changed it all started to feel really rushed to me. I liked that it was a happy ending, but I hated that the whole last 1/4 of the book led up to the Volturi coming to take them all out and then... NOTHING. It was all tense and then NOTHING. Nahuel shows up and BAM, it's over. I wanted the Volturi out of the picture. I hated the baby's name too... and OMG, the fact that Jacob imprinted on her was just too much for me. Even in a story about Vampires and Werewolves that was too far-fetched IMO.

But, like I said, I liked it overall.

Wasn't a fan of the last book, it was like the characters all lost their personalities, it was rushed and I agree with Bryn read like fanfic, in fact I am pretty sure I actually DID read a fanfic that involved a cottage in the woods and a baby! Another thing that bugged me is Jacob and the gang are wearwolves through the first three books, then bam, all of a sudden, well they are not REALLY wearwolves they are shapeshifters.. I mean seriously?? I also was hoping we would get some insight into WHY Bella was so special, why she had such an aversion to blood, WHY she didn't act like your average new born vampire. All we heard through the first three books was how "diffrent" she was, I was expecting it to come out she was part something or something, but no..ugh... lol

I think this is b/c it was just convenient for myers this way...i mean she goes on and on for 3 whole books about how animalistic Bella will be when she changes and what happens when she changes? Nothing...she conveniently skips over all that horrible stuff we read about for 3 books.

I finished it last night - I LOVED it. I felt the ending with the Volturi may have been intentionally left open (I'm thinking this may not be over despite the promotion of it being the end) and sure, I would have preferred to see the Volturi taken out. I also hated Renesme's (don't think that's spelled right?) name and as far as Jacob imprinting on her, I saw that coming the minute Bella got pregnant. I was quite happy with the ending.

Overall, I liked it and was happy with the way she wrapped everything up. I really disliked Renesmee's name too (as well as her nn). I have to say I was a bit disappointed that the way Bella was changed was so unpleasant and violent -eek. Perhaps that was to fall in line with the way the other Cullens were changed but it was hard to read none the less.

I too am a sucker for a happy ending so I was glad to see everyone (but Leah :(, poor girl!) get their own happy endings. After Quil imprinting on Claire and the exchange you see between them earlier in the book, I figured Jacob was going to imprint on Bella's child if it was a girl. I love the books but Meyer isn't much for subtle foreshadowing LOL.

I'm really glad no one died! I loved the HP books but the deaths were so sad :(, I'm glad that Stephenie didn't go killing people off!

Even though, overall I was pleased with the book the only thing that left me kind of put off was that there was no sacrifice at all for Bella. For 3 books we read that she wouldn't be able to see her family anymore, that Jake would want nothing to do with her, that she would be wild with bloodlust as a newborn, becoming a vampire would mean she was giving up the ability to have children. Then NONE of that happened. She got it all, immortality, her family, still getting to see Jake - pretty much forever, no bloodlust AND she had a child! It was just too easy for her. She got everything she wanted with no price. At the very least, I feel that she shouldn't have been able to have contact with her famiy anymore. Something should have been hard.

On the blood thing....I read somewhere prior to the release of the book that people were speculating that Bella might have a really special ability to resist blood after becoming a vampire because she was so sickened by the smell as a human. I was surprised to see that be true!

Ok, I said I liked it and I've complained about it most of this post. I really did like it! I'm beyond thrilled that Bella finally became a vampire and that she and Edward are going to be together. I loved that she was finally able to let Edward into her thoughts and feelings. That was a really special moment! Even though, I was not a fan of Jacob in New Moon and Eclipse I really grew to like him during Breaking Dawn and I was happy he was able to let Bella go and find is true love. I don't even mind that it was Bella's daughter (though it is a bit weird, I admit). Since Jake doesn't have to age if he doesn't want too and Renesmee won't age after she reaches a certain age then they will also be able to be together forever which I found very sweet and comforting. If Jake had imprinted on a human girl then she would have eventually died :(.

Overall, I give it an A- :)!

I haven't read any of the responses yet...I'll do that after I finish. I don't want to bias my opinion. Haha!

I started on Thursday and finished Saturday, now that I've had a day to mull over the book in my mind...

I'm *okay* with the book.

I'm a huge Jacob fan, and I felt all along he was way too good for Bella. So I'm glad they didn't end up together and that he gets the girl of his dreams (so to speak).

I can't stand how whiny Bella is, especially in this book. I HATED how Edward's attitude was, "Whatever you want, you'll get." HELLO - in real life, just because someone loves you, doesn't mean you get your way 24/7, or even that you SHOULD get your way.

I hate how the middle of the book was so long and drawn out, only to have the Volturi WALK AWAY?!?! I was expecting an epic battle of all centuries. It would have been so much more thoughtful and romantic if everyone had died except Jacob and Ness. I would have shed some tears. Instead, I rolled my eyes.

What's up with all of a sudden making the pack "shape-shifters" instead of wolves? So weird. Why not just leave it be?

Finally, what's up with "Renessme". Meyers comes up with brilliantly romantic and classy names like Bella and Carlisle and Esme, etc, and then drops...Renesmee? I liked the middle name Carlie alot better!

Overall, sure, sure, it was a happy ending. But I think Meyer's sold herself short with this story. Reading the book from Jacob's perspective was SO FUN. But I've been a die hard Jacob fan from the start.

ETA: Overall rating B-

i'm loving hearing everyone's opinions on this. while as i stated in my post i loved all the books, i too kinda feel like this last one was a little rushed and that i was a tiny bit letdown at the way some things happened. BUT i do kinda like how the ending was sort of left open, hoping she'll continue the series someday.

In a nutshell, I loved it. I'm a happy ending, every one wins in the end kind of person so it worked out well for me.
