Book/s that made an impact in your life

Can you share a book or books that made a profound impact on your life?

I am finishing up with "The life-changing magic of tidying up" by Marie Kondo. Next up, my daughter will lend me "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho which she highly recommends.
 
A book that has stayed with me for a long time and I would love to read for the first time again is Geisha Girls and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
 
One of my favorites of all time is Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. I think a big part of it was that I read it when I was up all night feeding my daughter as a newborn- so I'm sure there's some hormonal attachments there- but just an epic story of friendship & love. I've read everything else she's written and many are really really great- but Firefly lane is just the one for me! ;)

Oh I love that book, too! Have you watched the Netflix series? Kristin is one of my favorite authors.
 
I love The Life Changing Magic Of Tidying Up! When I first finished it I wasn't so sure, but then here I am 7 years later still talking about it and recommending it!

I loved What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. It was my first foray into literary fiction, and the lessons that it imparted... I just really needed them at that moment in my life. I have now read all of Liane Moriarty's titles, but that one remains my favorite.

I have! It was really good! I wasn't sure with the casting at first, but the actors grew on me!

I love her books too! What Alice Forgot was a great one!
 
I'm going to go way way back because I think this book influenced my whole love of art and the direction my kits tend to go. This is one of two books that I solidly remember from childhood.
Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever. As an adult I have gifted this to a number of children (my own included of course).

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. It's a children's book but it has always stayed with me.
 
Mine is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle... Its my teaching philosophy....

My children are little caterpillars, taking in all the knowledge each day, learning and changing, to become butterflies.

If nothing ever changed, we wouldn't have butterflies.
