Anyone wanna play with my brand spankin' new blogger? I do not know how to use code to spruce it up and I don't like it all plain and stuff. Any takers...I'm fun to work with. :p

Hehehe...and then once that is done I'm off to Graffiti Chicks to make a blinkie!

I'm planning on sprucing my own blog up too. I need to really play with it though. I have no idea how to do what I want to do or if blogger will let me, lol.
 
bryn and sarah...i love both of your blogs. :) do i just design my own header or have someone else do it and then plug it in somehow? i guess i can handle that.
 
Just design your own! Much cheaper that way :) Plus if you're like me, I like to change mine all the time!

Blogger has made it super easy to put headers in now! You just edit your header in the page elements tab (if you use blogger that is) and upload a picture! It's great! :)
 
So it's a blogger blog? I did Angel's when she first started hers up and have done my own (link is in siggie) but it's through Wordpress on my own domain.
 
Speaking of blogging...how do you make your headers (section titles) pictures?? EX...Galleries...CT spot ect...
 
I don't use the new blogger template...I prefer the old one and I do the html. It hasn't been easy but it is the way I know. I even embedded my own videos this time! I always dread revamping the blog but when it is done it is worth it :)

to add some paper background in blogger, first upload it to photobucket, then go to layout - edit html and scroll down a bit, not too far, you are looking for the beginining of the BODY, which should come right after the variable definitions. you want this section

body {
background:url( " http:// img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/becomfy/blog/200_WinterChic_Paper_Floral.jpg " );
margin:0;
padding:20px 10px;
etc.....

after where it says background: you put url("link to your paper");

it might say background-image:
 
Oh, and for headers, I just got my mommy blog's done by Graffiti Chicks and it was totally worth it. I've been trying to make a header I liked for a year & wasn't getting anywhere & I told them what I wanted & they put it right together. I got a couple blinkies too. They are in my sig. :)
 
thanks stacey. I'm pretty sure my method has extra unnecessary steps... but that's how someone showed me and it works! Stacey's is a little easier! :)
 
Awesome ladies! I was hoping to get to this today, but we had a change in our weekend plans and are leaving early. So I'll have to do it next week. But this is super helpful!!
 
Ok...so I have tried those methods and it's not working. :( What am I doing wrong??? I so want to customize my blog but I can't get the background changed at all! :cry:
 
hmm, are you using blogger?

If you send me your blog addy, i can check out the page source info and see if it's in the wrong place or if it's something else.
