Black Friday - What's your plan?

I don't really HAVE a plan right now other than shop, get Starbucks, eat lunch and come home to nap. LOL
I do have a few things that I have in mind for my kids but a lot of it can be purchased online. I think we'll go just to browse and experience it - I've never been Black Friday shopping and neither has DH.
We both HATE crowds but it might be a good way to find the not-so-popular items we're looking for, for cheaper than usual.

After working in retail ten years, I don't do Black Friday. I'll sit here in my nice comfie house, scrap a little....then probably go out and see my Dad..come home, put on the Christmas tunes and decorate :)

I'll fit in a few digi shopping expeditions in there during the day, too :)

Since I'm in Canada there is no Black Friday, however, my plans for that day are this...my ILs are taking both my girls overnight then they are going to their Flying Club's Christmas party on Saturday (DH and I will meet them there later on in the afternoon) So Friday since I am by myself, I will decorate for Christmas, then DH and I might go to a movie/dinner! His boss told him in September to take me out on a date and we haven't had the opportunity to until now.

Oh, I LOVE to shop on BF and have always done it. But this is the first year with 2 kids and I just don't think I can manage. The last several years we've dragged Camden out with us, but there's no way I can get up at some ungodly hour with two kiddos. I've never shopped alone, but I guess I could do it. It's more fun with DH, though.

After working in retail for so many years, I despise BF.

But, Jordan's family is insane. And as I don't want to be Debbie Downer, I usually go along when we're with them for Thanksgiving.
I'm praying I can steal 5 minutes on someone's computer to shop here with the big sale.

Unless we find some great deals on paint and carpeting, we probably won't be doing much... I know I'll be stuck at the computer quite a bit, watching for customer service emails...so much fun!:p

I've done it (shopping on BF) and don't plan on doing it again. Well, I may online if there's a great digi-sale that I can't resist.
I'm planning to go over to my mom's and teach her how to use PSE and she's going to start to teach me how to quilt.

I'll be camping this year - and thankfully will have wi-fi at the campground so I'll be able to purchase my digi stuff. Other than that, we will be going wine tasting.

You know what's funny...after something like 11 years in retail...I don't despise Black Friday. It's become so much more of a symbol to me...the madness, the signaling of the Holiday season, fighting with the groggy cashiers...I like the rush, the feel of it. For the last six years, I have gone with my sister. It's been like our tradition. Unfortunately, my sister informed me that now that she is married, she will be at her MILs for Friday morning, and will not be going with me. Pooh to her.:thumbdown:

First, that is NOT the day for browsing. ;) I go, I love to, but I think I have to go alone this year. Not going to take my 2 year old with and my mom isn't here to watch him this time. Maybe I can get someone else to go with me.

I will be at my parent's small town WalMart. It isn't that crowded and I can usually find everything I want. It is too much trouble to drive all the way into Houston to do major shopping that day. Oh- and I am usually finished by 5:45 so I go back and sleep until the boys get up.

black friday scares the living poo out of me. i'll be hiding in my home while all you crazies are out fighting over $50 DS's...LOL!!!!

I have never done black Friday. My cousin called me the other night and asked me to go with her. She is pregnant, and indecisive and she had never done it either. I expect to need a few drinks by the time we are done. But my wonderful DH is keeping all 5 kids so we can shop. I don't even know what I am shopping for. There is no must have gift this year. I am moving that weekend, so it should be a crazy fun weekend. I will have internet right up to December 1st and it will be turned on at the new place on the second. So I plan to do lots of Digi black Friday shopping. Does anyone know when the Walmart black friday flyer will be out?

I only do Black Friday online. The only thing that has ever gotten me out of bed before 5am are airline flights I didn't schedule and going into labor. :) I'm hoping for some DVD or Wii game deals on Black Friday & have my site list already bookmarked.

There are a lot of great deals out there now. Check out www.dealsofamerica.com. I just got a refurbished 2GB Sandisk MP3player for $15. Regular $79.

I've never gone BF shopping. My mom hates crowds, so she never took us. My sister has gone the last couple years, I think. Honestly, I don't usually have enough $$ by then to get the presents I need.

As long as I have the day off, Jeff & Tyler & I will still be up at my parents' house. My mom always decorates the house and puts up the tree that day, so we will be doing that. It's a very long process as she puts little Santa figurines and holiday knickknacks on every surface in the house! *lol*

I promised Jeff we'd be home by dinnertime, so we'll drive the 2 1/2 hours back, pick up the dog, and settle in to see a movie or something.

I'm sure I'll hit up some digi sales here and there. :)

DH and I used to do black friday before we had kids and when they were really young. Now its just not worth it to me to get to the stores at the crack of dawn, drive around forever looking for a parking space, stand in line for hours, fight and push to get what is on sale, and then wait in long lines to pay.

That being said, DH hits wal-mart every BF. He gets off work at 5am and heads straight over to see if he can grab anything worth grabbing. Two BFs ago he got a big plasma TV for $600 less than retail and an xbox360 for 1/2 price.

I haven't talked to him about this year's BF. Its no big deal either way.

Well, the past couple of years, my DH has gone out shopping for me on Black Friday, and I've stayed home and slept in.

This year, I doubt we'll be doing much due to finances...we might go to a movie...but more than likely we'll be decorating the house for Christmas that day.

I use to go alone for years, was laways done by like 6Am and would sneak everything back home and crawl back into bed and my kids were never the wiser. But last year I was like 8 months preggers with G-man so DH went with me and he loved being out with me (not the shoppingor the crowd :D) so we decided we would start that tradition so this year we will get up early (3-4am) and head to some stores shop around (there is actually nothing I NEED this year so it will all be a pleasure trip) and then probably around 9AM we will hit breakfast and then maybe hit a few more stores and then head home!!

Ive never in all the years I have shopped for my kids and other people seen something good enough to get me out in the crowds on Black Friday. I doubt there will be anything this year either. So itll just be another Friday for me. Im hoping there might be some good digi sales though *hint, hint* LOL

We are actually almost finished shopping already  so I plan to stay in my PJs all day and do N O T H I N G

I used to LOVE Black Friday shopping!! But, I've found that the older I get, the less I like it. I don't have the patience to deal with the crowds at stores that I used to have. Especially not this year while pregnant. Unless there is some big bargain I HAVE to get, I doubt I will even go out on BF. I'd rather shop online. :p

don't have it here in Canada, and I was hoping that our dollar was at least par so that I could zip down to Montana with my neighbor and hit some sales ... doesn't look like that will happen this year. So I will probably be doing not a whole heck of a lot. lol

Does anyone know when the Walmart black friday flyer will be out?

Don't forget that if you are going to a 24 hr Walmart, they will not close at all on Thanksgiving, so you want to get there before the sale begins. You'll find LONG lines of ppl standing inside the store waiting for the sale announcement on the PA...they won't let you get things off of those pallets until it's time.

One thing that I like to do is bring the competitor store ads with me...DH got my camera that way. Best Buy had it on sale, but who wanted to fight a crowd for it! So he took the ad to Walmart, where it was NOT on sale, and had no problem getting it (for a VERY big discount), since everyone else was there for stuff that was on sale.

I've loved Black Friday the few times I've done it, but I only do it when we're shopping for bigger ticket items. Nothing like that is on the buying list this year, so between that and having family staying with us I don't think I'll be hitting the stores. Can't wait for the digi sales!

Want to get the early scoops on Black Friday ads? I have a couple sites that send them and they're usually pretty spot on as they have the actual ad scans on their sites.

We went to Wal Mart last year and it was nuts . We don't have anything to buy really, but last year they had good sales on dvds so we put up with the madness. It's rather fun in a way, but i'd rather stay home this year, lol. They'd better have some mighty fine sales to entice me out :p

I have been doing this since I got married 18 yrs ago. The ONLY 3 times I did not go was during 2 pregnancies and 1 time cause we were out of town. I LOVE going cause it is a challenge. I do go through all the ads on Thursday evening and usually only get those items unless something jumps out at me. I am actually getting excited just thinking about it

I will be at home as well. Bill has to work (of course sense he is an assisstant manager at a retail store) The kids & I may just start decorating & cleaning instead.

I will however be shopping Dec 26th ;)

Mom & I go every year! I remember one year, we were gone for 14 hours! It was great! I'm done w/my shopping this year, so I'll be helping her & just having fun!!!
