#8 - "life is a daring adventure..."

I absolutely love inspiring quotes that capture my life philosophies. This one by Helen Keller is perfect for how I look at my life and how I aim to live it. I wanted to make a photoless page so the sentiment was captured, but the page could be used for anything.

#10 - Before and After

I chose this challenge after looking for a photo to scrap and realize I actually have some before and afters of my daughter (all her idea). We were experimenting styling her hair this past school year and she fell in love with wearing her hair loose and curly. The first couple of mornings she told me I needed to get some before and after photos of her hair. She ran and made the sign she is holding in the photo ... and that was that.

#18 - Photostrips. I adore photostrips, and love the end effect. I like mixing papers into the photo spots to add pops of colour.

#9 - Straight Down the Middle

I love doing challenges that make me try a new and unique design styles, so this challenge was perfect for me. It actually took me quite a while to figure out exactly how I wanted this layout to look, but once I got rolling, things came together pretty quickly. And, I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out!

#10 - Before and After - I chose to scrap my daughters much needed haircut!! She always claims that she wants to grow her hair long, but then as soon as she gets it cut she LOVES it. I've meant to scrap about this for a long time, so this prompt was the perfect excuse!

#2 Summer Lovin'

My boys LOVE playing miniature golf. The second they knew we were going to back to Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, they requested we play.

#13 Use a bold background. I love papers, especially patterned paper, but I never seem to use a bright bold pattern as a full background. I usually tend to use solid backgrounds and layer on the patterned papers as smaller blocks. Or if I do use a bold paper in the background, it's usually only on half the page, with a solid on the other half. I loved the bold green paper in Kristin's kit this week, so it was perfect for this challenge.

#6 - Photo Challenge: Up Close

This challenge was perfect for a summer selfie - up close and personal.

I did one that kind of encompasses two challenges, but it was intended to be #15 - where we live. (It also fits #10, before & after). We recently redid the whole outside of our home and it finally feels like HOME! I was excited to scrap about the transformation.

#4 - Red, White and Blue

I love love love all things Patriotic and American/Americana. I am one of those true Red, White and Blue through and through girls. Every year I make sure to take Kennedy's 4th of July pictures, it's become a tradition that is one of my favorites with her.

#15 - Where We Live

We just made a big cross-country move from Texas back to our home state of California and these continent templates from Lauren were screaming to be used for this. I wanted to include more patterned paper from the kit so I used the polygonal lasso tool to create shapes within the shape.
