Challenge #4 - use multiple speech bubbles
16250388960_3494a2dd51_o.jpg

When I saw this challenge, and then this kit, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to scrap all the random little funny things that my kids say. My youngest especially, comes out with the strangest comments that have us all laughing for hours, and I never know how to scrap them. The speech bubbles were just perfect for this!

Challenge #4 - use multiple speech bubbles
Like Lizzy, I saw this kit and thought it would be perfect for the weird and random things that come out of my son's mouth when he's playing Minecraft. Headphones are a great thing, because I'm not sure I could handle hearing all his buddies' thoughts too.

Challenge #7 Black and white photo(s)
I'm a bit OCD about having colors of my photos compliment the kit I'm using. For this particular layout, I was inspired by the challenge to use black and white photos. I felt like some of the tones in the photos I wanted to use detracted from the overall look of the page, but thought the black and white would look great!

Challenge #21: on the edge
I love scrapping on the edge of the page. When I paper scrapped, this wasn't easily done but I love the look. Putting elements on the edge without worrying about cutting is much more fun.

Challenge #4: use multiple talk bubbles
I loved this challenge as a way to give myself a little scrap therapy. I wanted to capture the good and the bad thoughts to get some things out of my head. Every day, I try to be more kind to myself and I try to repeat the good, positive voices I hear inside.

#5 Use a themed kit to scrap an off-themed layout

Heather's "Because I Said So" kit is all about the things that you say to your kids. I used it instead for a day trip the kids and I took to a local park. I loved the colours and I pulled the more generic elements from the kit to make it work.

Challenge #7- Black and White Photos

I chose this one because I love the way B & W pictures look. I had these photos of my son, but the colors he was wearing didn't work at all with the kit I wanted to use. Taking out the color on the pictures made it so easy to make the page I was thinking of!!

Challenge # 24 - Pink

As soon as I saw Kristin's kit I Love You - I knew I had to use it for this challenge! And since it's February, I figured I'd go ahead and make it a mushy gushy valentines page too. Thank you Cindy for the awesome template that helped me make it all lovey dovey!

Challenge #14 - Conversation Hearts

I admit it - I'm not a big candy lover but I LOVE candy hearts. So when I saw this challenge, I knew I had to do it! For my challenge layout, I took inspiration from the candy hearts themselves by using my shape tool to cut out patterned paper hearts and then repeating one of the sayings "XOXO" as the title for my layout. I'm not into super duper lovey layouts but I like how this one turned out!

#10 - Photograph and scrap your shadow.

I scrap photos for my sister-in-law, so I interpreted this challenge on her behalf. I scrapped her shadow and also that of her wee daughter who literally follows her around all day like a little shadow.

#6 - Fill half your page with journalling or text

I got the kids to interview each other over the school holidays. They came up with the questions, and interviewed one another, then gave me the answers to scrap. I love these little insights into their thoughts. While initially I was going to scrap just one child per page, I ended up doing all three because I thought it would be interesting for them (in years to come) to see how their sisters/cousins answered the same question.

Splash! Splat! Sprinkle! Blob! Who doesn't like to get messy? I usually put some sort of painty goodness on my layouts.

Black and White Photos
When I started using Misty's kit I realize that everything would flow together more fluidly if I converted my photos to black and white. I love the result!

#2 - Blend a photo into your background

I knew when I saw this kit by Amber and Megs that I had to use it for this challenge. My daughter is so not a girly-girl...she loves zombies and vampires. I chose to use a Halloween photo of her and blended it into the woodgrain paper. I love the way it turned out.

#7 - black and white photos

Love me some black and white photos. I think they work perfectly with Mel's latest kit with the black elements and alpha.

I was a total slacker about moving this thread over here on time, but our Babes were on the ball with the amazing layouts they created this week for our Bingo Challenges!

What is inspiring you and what have you been up to this week?

Share your layouts with us here!!

I loved this one, I journaled about what dh and I skyped about when he was out of town on business and had a horrible trip poor guy!

This was a cool challenge and the site collab is awesome!

I did this one for scrap therapy

I have finished a couple this week. One of the things that I love about these challenges is that I am getting to use some older kits that I have had in my stash for a while.
